  1. Hello, Can I ask anyone, how will Bachmann get the replacement bodies to us consumers who bought them (I bought 2) ? I contacted the retailer who I bought them from and they knew of the issue but had no information on the replacements, does the body come from Bachmann or the retailer? Is it left to the consumer to follow this up or will we get them automatically when ready? Thanks
  2. I have ordered a few of these packs, where would I find information or pictures of nuclear prototypical trains please.
  3. Anyone seen or got a KFA yet? according to a well known Sheffield trader's website, they are available from today.
  4. Good pic that, why would you get slated?
  5. True the market has responded in a poitive way vindicating the chroming but how many buyers would have rather had weathered ones negating the need and cost of chroming. The origanal poster said for nearly thirty quid a wagon you would have expected a more scale ladder and I agree with that.
  6. I've got just 2 wagons (would have bought more but sold out) and also think they are a superb, much needed wagon but, if it's the chrome that pushes the price up then surely a matt silver, wagon been in use for a few months would also be prototypical, be easier to weather and be cheaper to produce than the chrome finish which is a model of a new out of works wagon. Run alongside (as well as) the chrome ones would make a lot of sense, after all, whats the point of going to the trouble and expense of chroming only to totally cover it with grime? just a thought?? I thought originally they would sell for just over £20, but now because of supply & demand a lot of places are selling at full R.R.P i.e. £27.95 which makes it expensive to build up a large rake.
  7. ....Agree entirely with this post, nearly £30 is a lot of money with a ladder like that.
  8. looks very nice but.... if i'm not mistaken that weathering is on a black (non chrome) sample model. How will the weathering 'key' to a chromed barrel? will the weathering be able to stand the rigors of exhibition life? If it can, great but if it can't, it's going to look a little shabby. FWIW I think this model has a great future inpact on the hobby but maybe it needs to come out in chrome as a newish example, dull silver as a used example and filthy as a prototypical recent example, just a thought....
  9. hi, i'm no expert, but I think that is the origianal wagon. The faults I think it has are; ..a, the body is about 2mm too tall, ..b, the top rail of the body should be angled 45 degres not flat and ..c, as beast says, I think it had the incorrect number of (end I think) ribs. Having said that, I have 2 of them, I just angled the top rail with a file and painted it gold again, painted the inside rust colour (a big improvement) weathered them filth and just lived with the height and ribs problem. cheers Nick.
