  1. Worcester Model Railway Club meets on Tuesday & Friday evenings at the Horizon Hub, Midland Road, Worcester, WR5 1DS, 19:00 - 22:00hrs. We have our own private layout/club room and are constructing both OO and N gauge layouts. We need new members, both experienced and novices alike. If you live locally and are interested in seeing what we are about, pop along on a club night where you will be welcomed.
  2. Well in his reply to me, it seems it is politically motivated!! "Hello “Barry”; Quite right, currently the UK is not fun to do business with. Like Switzerland. Or the USA. But this has to do with general conditions - political, legal, econimal, administrative etc. But not with the people living there. Hence my statements may be taken as aggressive to the administrations of these or other countries for making live less fun as necessary. But not as aggressive to the users living there."
  3. I just saw this extraordinary reply from Mr Freiwald who owns the TC company. This was to a UK customer querying the UK price increase on 1st Jan. It's on the TC forum. I have put my own reply but wondered what others thought of this? Here is his quote: "By the way, in the future we will focus more and more on the countries where it is fun to sell our software or to work with users. And we will more and more withdraw from other countries. Fun before business. Before we decided to make the said changes for the UK it has been a serious alternative for us to withdraw completely from there." Barry
  4. For the month of November only, for every 2 packets of Corridor Connectors bought from MB Model Railway Products, you will get a third packet of your choice free! (Cheapest goes free) Place your order as normal on the website, then email mandb@mbmodelrailwayproducts .co.uk stating which sort you would like as your free packet! http://www.mbmodelrailwayproducts.co.uk
  5. Ruud, you will have seen some of the difficulties I have been experiencing, highlighted in adjacent threads on this forum. I hope in the future that your videos will cover such difficulties like conditions in schedules, sequencing schedules etc etc. Barry
  6. Rudy, you might have covered this somewhere in schedules & ive missed it?! 1. If we have 2 different schedules using the same blocks, how can I get the trains to run at different speeds in the blocks for the different schedules? 2. Is there a quick way to select several schedules to start them running together? Your videos are fantastic Rudy. Please keep them coming! I'm looking forward to hearing the words, "Welcome to working with Train Controller video number 100!" Thank you. Barry
  7. Hi Rudy, Your videos are exemplary. Clear, concise & easy to understand. Thank you. Is it possible you could do a video about signals and interlocking with blocks & turnouts - operations? Keep those videos coming! Barry
  8. Any switch will do really. Just connect it as shown to the 2 terminals. This was my first attempt at a electronic circuit - it went better than I thought! Barry
  9. YES, yes, yes, yes.......whoop whoop whoop!!!!! Found the problem - poor DCC Connection from track!! (Spent all afternoon trying to make it work only for it to be a loose connection)!! Many many thanks Ray! Thanks also to Jonathon. Video here: Barry
  10. I'm happy that the interface is built ok and all wires going to it are ok. My problem seems to be centred around DCC as when I do the DC monitor test all the figures are zero. It scrolls ok but it's just scrolling packets of zero. When I run it through part 6 - it stops at the reference point but I can't budge it using the handset set to access 200 c or t The digitrax system doesn't seem to recognise it. I think I need a way to program the interface as accessory 200 from the digitrax handset - but that doesn't seem possible! Barry
  11. Hi Ray, Yes, I should have realised - it's for that read out thingy!! No, I'm still struggling to get the DCC interface working. I've disconnected it and I'm just checking over it. Also, not sure if the hall sensor is working? I'm using the same sensor as you but a smaller magnet (as its N Gauge) Does it matters it's facing N or S pole to the sensor? Excuse my poor knowledge! Barry
  12. When I try to run Jonathon's sketch, I get an error message: From Clipboard: This report would have more information with "Show verbose output during compilation" enabled in File > Preferences. Arduino: 1.0.6 (Windows 7), Board: "Arduino Uno" sketch_feb03b.ino:35:20: error: U8glib.h: No such file or directory sketch_feb03b:41: error: 'U8GLIB_SH1106_128X64' does not name a type sketch_feb03b.ino: In function 'void BasicAccDecoderPacket_Handler(int, boolean, byte)': sketch_feb03b:172: error: 'u8g' was not declared in this scope sketch_feb03b.ino: In function 'void draw(int, boolean)': sketch_feb03b:193: error: 'u8g' was not declared in this scope sketch_feb03b:193: error: 'u8g_font_unifont' was not declared in this scope sketch_feb03b.ino: In function 'void setup()': sketch_feb03b:511: error: 'u8g' was not declared in this scope Any ideas please - it's gobble de to me! Thanks Barry
  13. Thanks Ray! I guarantee I'll be back with more questions! I found the Aduino and Adafruit easy to sort but the DCC Circuit was my first bash at electronics! I'm not convinced it's working correctly as when I did the DCC Monitor test, the data scrolled but it was all zeros!! Barry
  14. Ray thanks for coming back on. A few Q's - why has Jonathan got 4 addresses? I only want my turntable to turn 180 degrees each time. ( only one entry/exit) How can I change Jonathons sketch to do that? I am very naive at programming!!! Thank you for all your assistance. Barry
  15. I have built the DCC circuit Board and thanks to everyone especially Ray for this thread. I have hit a stumbling block in so much as I have Digitrax and I don't seem to be able to program the DCC board to Accessory 200? Any ideas how I can do that in digitrax please? Thanks Barry
  16. All I can say is Wonderful! I am interested how you came to your decision of DCC products and accessory choices....ie ECoS? Barry (Have PM'd you Anthony)
  17. Following this thread with interest. Great pics. I'm from Nottingham originally - my Mother from just down the road from Rise Park, when Top Valley was a Coal slick. Great work gents. Barry
