  1. I am currently involved in setting out a new publication based on the existing LNER Track Surveys of the M&GN System. The Layout shall be similar to that used

by the LNER, using a similar font but, being unable to equal the LNER's precise mileage details in miles, chains and links (for the track is long gone) I am having

to re-measure from O.S. on-line maps printed and pasted together - so it shall be shewn in miles & chains only. I have been very reliant on information from the

Midland Railway Study Centre, Silk Mill, Rugby and the Signalling-Record-Society plus Members of the M&GN Circle for my information - to all of whom I am grateful.

This new Survey, set in 1956, will cover the outlying track from end-on Junction of the LMR and M&GN at Little Bytham to Leicester London Road (as it

used to be known - to distinguish it from all the other Stations in Leicester, incl. GCR.) The Leicester Express started out from Yarmouth Beach Station,

calling at: Melton Constable, Little Bytham End On Junction, Saxby, Melton Mowbray (where the Mileage changed), Syston and Leicester London Road.

The data is all in and needs to be set out, the tracks drawn, then printed and bound in A4 Book form.
