  1. I like the Maiden Newton version of the of goods exchange shed. Viewed from the front of the layout it will balance out well the mainline station canopy and provide a visual link. Tony
  2. photo 3 demonstrates that pinch point you were after for this end of the line being town based. Just like Charmouth being the country end of the line being open space surrounded by fields.
  3. Hi Dave I have every intention of being at Narrow Gauge South in April armed with my camera this time to get some new shots of the new goods yard. Also hope to have a finished project I am working on to show you. Tony
  4. Enjoying the changes you have been making to the old carriage building area. I know it been a aspiration for Bridport Town to have a small town good yard on top of the transfer yard. The inclusion of the additional low relief line side building to break up the view will invoke that town goods yard feel than the open scrub area at the front of the layout. Have you considered a yard crane in between the new goods yard building and the low relief building as another visual break.
  5. looking good Dave. I agree that a higher level of detail is required at the front of the layout. Especially now you can see more of the details on the surounding building that the bulk of the carraige shed blocked.
  6. Having spoken at Burton about how you wanted to add a town goods yard I have been keeping a eye out for suitble items as I find items for my layout. The nice thing with kitwoods is not only can you purchase a complete model kits you can also buy the bits that speed up scratch building. The wooden platform kit is a great time saver. I look foward to see what will replace the carriage shed
  7. looking at your sketch for a single road good shed etc. There are some parts from kitwood hill models - www.kithillmodels.com that would help in your construction. see O scale structures and depot
  8. Look forward to seeing you there tony
  9. Hi Dave Good to see Charmouth will be at train west. this year. Some while ago you offered me the chance to operate Bridport Town but I was unable to take you up on the offer. I will be visiting train west and if you need extra operators and your offers still stands. I would relish a chance to operate Charmouth. If you have enough operators no worries it will still be good to see you and Charmouth at train west 2018. Tony
  10. Hi Dave There are a few more photos on the Chiltern Model Railway Exhibition 2017 web page. I hope it will be exhibited in 2018. Regards Tony
  11. Hi Dave i see from narrow news 166 both Bridport Town and Charmouth will be appearing at narrow gauge south west. have you finally got round to building a link board. I look forward to seeing you again on the 18th Tony
  12. Hi Dave Great to hear that Bridport town is having another outing see you" Eurotrack" Tony
  13. Hi Dave Yes I am a member of the association and last year started to attend the Bi monthly meets of the Wessex Area group to help keep me on track with building my layout. Although we meet in the barleycorn inn we all try and take one new item we have built or review how far one has got. I hope to start setting out my cutting plans for my base boards this weekend and have all the parts ready for assembly by the end of April. I currently have a half constructed station building on the modeling table which I hope to have completed for the next Wessex area meet on the13th of may. So hope to post some photos soon. Regards tony
  14. Good Afternoon Dave It was a great pleasure to meet you on Sunday at trainwest and finally see Bridport town live. Thank you for your time and invitation to view the layout form the no public side. I first came across Bridport town and Charmouth when I Google 7mm NG layouts when looking for a new modeling challenge. Seeing Bridport town in operations did not disappoint and this has spurred me on to sell the bulk of my HO US stock and construct a 7mm NG exhibition layout along the lines we discussed and hopefully one day I can return the invitation to navigate a loco around my layout. Hope to see you in Exeter with Charmouth at the end of may. Tony
