  1. I have been offline for a while fixing my Asus PC with the errant update. All done now, thankfully It was a minor problem for me. After the update was installed, not noticed at the time, on boot up, the PC reported a CPU fan error, press F1 to continue and it cleared each time. I have been busy so was just another task to do later. When this report came to me I thought it was now important to do. Now, without the update the fan fault has been cleared. I will be more diligent next time.
  2. More Microsoft musings, this time the question is "Are they really a Company without ethics?" http://www.forbes.com/sites/gordonkelly/2016/05/04/microsoft-warns-windows-7-boot-up-problem/?utm_source=yahoo&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=yahootix&partner=yahootix#15e86215395e
  3. EU can't do anything. The link is from you to Microsoft, they can winge all they want but it is out of their jurisdiction.
  4. If you think Win 10 is really good then read this. http://www.forbes.com/sites/gordonkelly/2016/04/29/free-windows-10-cost-expensive-secret/?utm_campaign=yahootix&partner=yahootix#55f9eed9403f
  5. I wouldn't, far too many spalled Victorian bricks. Old Victorian properties are made from soft bricks called stocks ,which are prone to erosion due to the weather and by being neglected. Seeing the extent of damage already, weather pointing and repair of these properties is very expensive. Even the roof is getting attention right now Probably on the cards for demolition in a few years time.
  6. I assume you checked your spam folder. I found my email from Jamie in there after 3 days! Give them a call, they don't bite.
  7. A more likely scenario is that it just fell off. I have had mine for a while now and more than a half dozen parts have been found around the place. Each time there has been no adhesive on the parts. It would have been better if they sold it a a kit of parts, at least I could have done a better job of putting it together.
  8. It could be the decoder you have fitted. I have more than a hundred running, including sound, and some are impossible to get running well. If you swap to another, use a completely different make entirely.
  9. Using my loco on DCC, using NCE ProCab, it runs fine. Apart from the lights and changing some CVs to get it to run with lights in the direction of travel. Not their finest model/ moment. Contact is done through: Kevin Grindley Sales Admin Manager keving@Dapol.co.uk
  10. Last day of priority orders If you want to take advantage of this final day of preferential ordering, then please telephone us today on 01780 470086 between 10.00 and 21.00.
  11. I am fortunate to reside a few miles north of the premises and collected my locos. Having them mixed in with the Christmas mail didn't enthrall me one bit. My fleeting visit was timed and very short. They are working their socks off and have at least one new helper onboard. Those who are buying the model will not be disappointed, I can assure you of that. I am about to fit a Hall-effect sensor to one model but it looks so good that I haven't had the heart to undo the screws yet! However, Paul Chetter tells me that if you do fit one, the default sound is the Flange Squeal so all your curves can invoke that sound wherever you wish.
  12. I have to ask, if you can't fit any more in the space with modern injection moulding equipment and Hornby did 40 years ago, then are the Hornby grills really to scale?
  13. I got my sound equipped models today. Stunning is is not enough, I was lost for words to describe them. Even my wife was impressed with the detail. Who ever complained about the grill/ vent detail needs to look carefully at them, they are so fine that you couldn't fit any more slats in the available space.
  14. I read that when it was posted, but now the plot thickens, they are saying that regardless of the switches we enact, Win 10 continues to keep the door wide open. David
