  1. Thank you all very much for your interesting replies. I think I’ll pop an item on the site and see if there’s a reaction from eBay. Bob
  2. Hi Im an infrequent seller on eBay but now have some items to sell. I’ve been inactive for a while but kept getting offers of selling fee discounts during this period. Are eBay not offering these now? How do I get I prompt ebay to offer again? Thanks Bob
  3. Thank you for your suggestion, I’ll follow it up
  4. Thank you, it ranks among some of the worst kits I have attempted, don’t look too closely! Bob
  5. Hello, I am finishing off a model of a Bristol LG5 single decker from Scalelink. The supplied headlamps are very poor and I would like to replace them with WM castings. Can anyone suggest a source? Road vehicles are not my central interest but I like to do the best I can with my models. Any help appreciated. Bob
  6. Thanks, I mislead you, the kit has overlays not inserts. I think 10.5 is close enough, better slightly larger than prototype than too small. I just need to get on with it now Bob
  7. Thank you for confirming that, if my maths are ok, 2’ 8” wheels should be 10.5mm which is what I need. Doesn’t matter if spoked or disc, the kit I have has inserts giving the correct appearance of the Wickham. So who in 4mm does metal tyred insulated, Lowmac wagons? Bob
  8. Hi, I spoke with Ellis last time at Telford trying to secure a complete chassis, no spares available. I might just take up your suggestion, things may have changed. Thanks for your thoughts. Bob
  9. Thanks DCB and Dava for your useful suggestions. What is the normal size for 00 axles? It may well be I’ll have to put this on ice until I can visit uk and have a rummage at a train fair. Bob
  10. Thank you, alas the website says they are out of stock. They also look finer than what I’m looking for. I’m hoping someone can suggest an older, coarser wheel set. Thank you for responding. Bob
  11. Hi In my stash of to do kits is an Nscale Brass Wickham trolley. I’m using a Spud, regauged, as power unit. I have the extended axles ( 2mm dia) but I’m stumped for which wheels to use. The Spud wheels are very fine and keeping the trolley on my very average O gauge track looks like a challenge. I’ve tried Markits but my email has not been answered regarding Romford wheels. I had thought of using an 00 gauge bogie as a donor but I’m not familiar with 4mm products and it seems most of these are plastic tyred. So, advice please, I need a 10.5mm dia, insulated and metal tyred, preferably chunky rather than fine scale. Anyone suggest a suitable source for this? Thanks Bob I should have mentioned I live abroad, working alone so no one or club to consult.
  12. Hi Paul, glad you’re on the mend. Coincidentally I’ve just finished a PMV. The sides and ends are zinc, roof Slaters and the rest from my odds and sods box. Total cost <£25. It’s a bit rough and ready but I can’t afford £250 for a van. I also have a Staters one, finished in carmine red and filth, bought in auction for £21 with a Siphon G in the same lot. All the best Bob
  13. Following this with interest. Comparing the pic above with my Ace version, my footplate seems to have some features of both.I don’t think it has evolved from the Ravenscale version. Bob
  14. Hello Paul, Not sure of its provenance, all the etches are marked as Ace products. It is the earlier N7 with arched rear windows. I have another, bought s/hand which is (now) a good runner but as bought wallowed all over the place due to wheel issues. Alas it is a mix of the earlier version, (low bunker,) but the rear windows are round and the side window and bunker steps are matched to that. The big error is the door aperture which does not reach the roofline. It is beautifully painted and hand lined and I am loth to wreck it. But I do need 62713, the B Stortford pet. Not thought of asking Jim for the etchings, I’ll try Good luck with your build. Bob
  15. Take your time Paul, I doubt you’ll find another one. I’ve been searching for ages and have resigned myself to fighting the Ace Products offering. Bob
