Here is LCGB photo 1966 on the internal views of M24449M a BR built Driving Trailer with the BR side LHS window (none of RHS) Any LMS Driving trailer would not have the side vehicle and from memory of cab rides in early 1960s the hand brake was more central and i dont remember the central window having the ??? Brake controler if thats what it is,, Can others interest confirm what they think controls are which i think are Left to Right ?? regualtor, ??sander?? Vacuum on window Electric Horn, Hand operated Windscreen wiper, Hand brake in the foreground by the adjustable seat or in the central controler the regulator?

non gangway suburban BR livery first appears as full Crimson(carmine) and was lined as per blood and custard corridor stock but lining was soon discontinued to save money, The Maroon 1956 non gangway first appear unlined but shortly after started to be lined like maroon corridor stock.

Buffalo sent me some pictures via a PM and so to bring this thread up to date I attach the following....
The first picture behind 1P 0-4-4T 58086 is an LMS Period II push-pull driving trailer in LMS lined livery but with M prefix number. Example numbers being 24405, 24460-24468 without duckets.

I know this thread is long closed but my local push pull was M24460M AND IT HAD DUCKETS being converted after it went into service

As i am self isolating I have set myself a task of making a small Halt modeled on Radcliffe halt just of the Oxford To Verney Junction line, Can any one give me link to a supplier or ideas of how to construct the simple post and Oil lamps house used on the halt, you see them on lots of small stations in the 1950s rather that gas style lamps.. part photo of radcliffe station showing style of lamps

The LMS used conventional non-corridor coaches, both all third and composites, fitted with additional pipes at each end for the regulator and RCH jumpers for the engine bell. Hornby Period 3 coaches would be suitable almost as they are for renumbering those built after the change from torpedo vents to shell vents, so probably the lots built by the LMS in 1938 and BR in 1949/50. the lots built c1932/34 would need the roof vents changed.
There are diffrences in the van door layout between Lot diagrams but the major change is that the BR 1949/50 have an additional window, the period 111 last lms sets had no duckets and upright vacuum and motor pipes, whereas the post lms 1949/50 BR biult P&P had mark1 low vacuum and motor pipes and a window between the guards/driver door and the carriage end

I would suggest getting hold of a copy of Metropolitan Railway Rolling Stock, authored by me and published by Wild Swan c.2000. The later chapters cover the Met's goods stock and its eventual disposal to either London Transport or the LNER.

i have three LT pannier and want to model a few more London Transport wagons but there is a dearth of LT RTR wagons. and even fewer photos, i have only found one or two in months of searching, (see screen dumps) RTR are all BW Ballast Wagons, this appears to be a pre 1907 RCH wagon (8 or 10 tons next to a 1907RCH wagon SL932 or is it L932, i assume SL for Steam loco or could it be a faded SW (Stores Wagon) with L for loco. Has anyone any other detail of the LT and MET Rly numbering system, i have see TW ?? track waste or train Waste. They had a resonable small fleet of dark grey 7 plank coal wagons Any ideas of links would be helpful

I have obtained the above kit from Canada of all places. It will make an excellent model for my Buxton Midland inspired layout "Derwent Spa". The kit is complete save motor, gearbox painting etc. Has anybody built one and can let me know what motor and gear box to get hold of as things have no doubt moved on since the kit was produced? Any pitfalls I should look out for? This will be a slow burner as I will only work on the kit when at our business address as when at our own home the layout will take priority.
is yours 4mm scale or 7mm scale, i built a george norton 7mm kit but need to regear it and re-engine (also repaint as it was in midland livery and i now model 1950s)

In the London and North western Railway Society we have just been loaned a whole album of black and white photos that cover Oerlikons, Siemens, 1927 stock and 501s. They are currently being scanned and should become part of the LNWRS collection. I will do my best to make them available; while not sharp they do appear to be a new discovery.
very interesting
My Winter project WAS to build a 1927 three coach set in 0 gauge by using three 7mm LMS suburban Ian Kirk Coach kits, though as the detailing on the kits is not that good,so I have deferred the project
