  1. Tonight, Pannierrama digs deep into the hidden plans for world domination by a small bunch of green things. We ask: Has everyone gone loco?
  2. Creekside building behind the viaduct. Currently just blue-tacked on to get a feel. There will be a viaduct wall to add, so the building will probably go a bit higher to compensate. The line where I chopped the roof down is visible...
  3. Hi Paul @Worsdell forever. I've heard there are two types of this chinchilla dust, one that is 'natural' and one that is a type of clay, which doesn't react well with pva. Not sure if I've heard right, but I have avoided buying until I can clarify. Which sort/ make have you used? (Ps can you get it at the pet supplies opposite Whitby station ? I nearly went in a few weeks ago and then thought this could be a long conversation about nothing to do with rodents 🤣)
  4. Hi Clive That's a nice little scene. Who makes the yellow plant? They look quite detailed. Are they kits, or ready to roll?
  5. Almost precisely what an HMRI Inspector said to me once many moons ago when they inspected New Works. History records he couldn't break it as we got the necessary letter permitting trains to run 👍
  6. Very, very nice. Probably not enough verys to be fair . . . .
  7. Should have said that, as a creekside building it will sit at Dock level. This will be behind the viaduct section, with some space to the right of it, as in the prototype for land side vehicles to load/ unload. So part of what I have drawn of this building will be hidden. In my world, ground then rises to the other buildings that will sit at roughly track level beyond the carriage sidings. I'm thinking a sleeper boundary fence to the right of the viaduct wall will partly obscure them. Will hopefully get to mock this up in the not too distant future.
  8. Looks like the chap on the platform in the black leather trousers is demonstrating how to do a Michael Jackson moonwalk with hands on hips . . . . Moonwalk
  9. The backscene looks miles away in your video 👍
  10. Ooo. Are you going to put a picture on of the extended siding by the water tower?? Can't beat a nice bit of Permanent Way. . . . . 👍
  11. I'm afraid I don't have the technology to do that. Happy for someone else to have a go. I'm not sure if @KNP or @Gedward follow this topic ? If they didn't before, I've just gently knocked on their doors. . . . 👋
  12. A group of pictures as well. Superb modelling.
  13. Have taken the paper slicer to the roof and adjusted. I feel this looks more like it. Helped having drawn the tile lines 😊
  14. Looked at the creekside warehouse drawing again last night and this morning. I'm now undecided, but still looks too high. Trouble is the photo of the side I am comparing too was taken really close to the building, as shown. Pic added from further away as well. Thoughts?
  15. Nice to meet you and chat at York on Sunday, @Andy Ross and see your layout (very) close up. Excellent. I must have visited at least three times 😁
  16. Hi Graham @LNER4479. Stopped by a few times on the Sunday. Grabbed a few words with @jwealleans 'round the back'. Each time I called by you were either very busy inside, at the loco shed panel, or sorting out errant road vehicles, so didn't like to interrupt you. Layout and trains looked great. Nice spot for it as well. Had a bit of a chat with @Barry O on another layout.
  17. If you want that sound, you'll need to make sure the 'joints' are further apart than the longest wheel base of bogie coaches you want to run. I agree with @Peter Kazmierczak about not making individual 'panels'. You'll have to cut one of the rails further to get the joints square where you lay them on a curve, rather than at the end of a yard of OO. 45ft is only 180mm, or just over 7" . So each yard of OO will need chopping into five pieces, all of which might need further adjustment. You also might end up with a thru'penny bit railway. Although that could be quite prototypical for some locations. . . . 🙂
  18. I thought GWR windows on roofs were called Clerestory, not Velux . . . . 🤔😬
  19. If I remember my WW2 history correctly, the Luftwaffe used to work on Sundays. Other countries armies had church parade, so made life easier for those wandering in an easterly direction in September 1939.
  20. Drew out a creek side warehouse yesterday. This one is side on, so the roof is visible. Inked it all in, stood back and realised it was wrong. I had calculated the height of the roof by measuring the gable end elevation. That makes the view from the side unbalanced, as the roof slopes away and appears lower to the viewer. Back to the drawing board (literally). But first, off to York show with three others today.
  21. Possibly a Pan-demic. . . .
