  1. I'm alao looking for the X9399 buffers for a Hornby class 60 & am unable to source any.
  2. Many thanks for your response to my question. The photos are especially helpful. I also, didn't know about the google earth measuring tool. Thank you
  3. Looking for information to help get a new project up and running. Does anyone know the dimensions of the Trainshed at Wick? I am aware it is 60meters long, but how wide is it? I would also appreciate it if anyone can let me know the following: The depth of the internal platform? The height of the walls on each side? The arrangement of the openings, doors windows etc on the platform side? How many trusses are there as well as the number of windows in the ceiling? I'd appreciate any help with any of the above, as well as any other relevant details. To help understand the reason, I've attached a scan from the James Hilton, Small Layout Design book. Many thanks to James for the inspiration & I hope he doesn't mind me sharing this with this group. Ray "Pepsi" Colla si Colla
  4. Hi Bob, Just a few pictures to give you an idea of where I'm heading with the renovation. Plus, I found more information in Rail Express Magazine from December 2002. It's still available to order from Rail Express, as that is how I got my copy.
  5. I'm still hopeful that someone out there in RMWeb land has a set of instructions for the Crownline Y1 Sentential Shunter. So if you've built this kit in the past, please check to see if you kept the instruction sheets, "just in case". Cheers, Ray "Pepsi" Colla
  6. Good afternoon Bob C, Working on Lochside is very much weather dependent, as I have to work in the back garden. I don't have anywhere else to set up the boards if I'm working on it, especially now, while I am trying to clean up the track ballast and remove the black paint. There are 4 boards in total, 3 scenic (4ft x 2ft) and one for the fiddle yard, plus two end supports that are over 6 feet tall. I plan to convert the wiring to DCC as well as some other minor changes, such as converting the one semaphore signal to a working signal as well as working platform lights. I'll try and take some picture, next time the weather is dry at the weekend, although it may be a couple of weeks, after all this is Scotland. Cheers, Pepsi
  7. Hi Bob, What was it you were looking to know? As you might have seen form the two photo's, I managed to buy this layout last year from a house clearance yard in Prestonpans, a small fishing town, situated approximately eight miles east of Edinburgh. It's in need of a good clean, some TLC and renovation, as well as the removal of allot of the black paint that the previous owner had painted all of the track with. It's missing a few cables and miscellaneous electrical bits, but otherwise is complete. Ray "Pepsi" Colla
  8. Hi Bob, Are you still looking for information wrt Lochside in O Gauge, from Ian Futers? If so, I might be able to help you
  9. I've finally managed to source an old Crownline Y1 BR Sentinel Shunter. Although it's quite a basic kit, it didn't come with any instructions. So if anyone has a set of instructions for the Crownline CK4 sentinel shunter that they could scan and email to me, I'd really appreciate it
  10. Looking for historical information, track layout and pictures of the Glasgow International Freight Terminal. I found this article in Scale Model Trains dated Feb 1986. Can anyone help?

I wish they were further on with this. It would be a real media coup if the release could be timed with the show in Glasgow. Doubt if that's going to happen though. Pepsi
  12. Looking forward to the next stage. This is definitely on my wagon wish list. Pepsi
  13. I think the garage with the Green door is the one to model. I liked the detail in it & that one new panel had been inserted. Just my tuppence worth. Pepsi
  14. A big thank you to all who showed support. Pepsi
  15. Also posted here http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/132508-the-great-model-railway-challenge/&do=findComment&comment=3202414 This post has been removed because I have received word that everything I thought lost, has now been found. A heartfelt thanks to all on this group who showed such caring and support. Pepsi
