Thank you Steve, very kind.
It has been a rewarding if tricky process, it certainly makes you appreciate how much effort must go into designing and producing reliable drive trains for RTR model locomotives, the degree of leeway is tight in a small 4mm model, i dread to think how the 2mm chaps cope!
Interesting drawing btw, i meant to comment before but had to rush off,
i assumed gab gear too but was surprised to learn that planet uses slip eccentric gear so given the close similarities perhaps samson did too?
i hadn't heard about this project till now, could you provide a link to the facebook page please 504?
Dan
yep gab gear will be fitted, we are only a small group. we have a large number of drawing now. we don't have a web site but we do have a facebook group, THE SAMSON PROJECT which we keep up dated with news.

this is a drawing our group have done it has 4'6" wheels so valve gear fits though axles.
we are looking into building a full size 12" to foot, Samson or Large Samson.
samsonlocomotive@gmail.com is our group email address. plus a facebook page.
we have a large selection of drawings and are gathering more.
