  1. Exhibition was ok but something seemed missing but can’t quite put my finger on it. First visit since 2019. Good selection of layouts and traders, but they seemed to be thrown into the hall in such a random way. Plenty of space between some stands and others were cramped. And rucksacks should be banned…..
  2. Does it come with the youngster behind the layout doing train horn sounds……
  3. Whilst my sources tell me the heavy wheel wear is partly down to the nature of the track bed, being not quite the same as mainline standards. But then island folklore starts to take over after that…..
  4. Not going well on the island, though SWR are being vague about the issues. Staff say there’s issues with the wheels…..
  5. It was modelled on 1975….🤦🏼‍♂️ There did seem some big gaps in running, and one of the operators out the front did seem to be not too happy with what wasn’t happening.
  6. Didn’t notice any either, but I was sorely tempted by the EFE Southern Booster, in BR Blue, but then thought “how can I remotely justify it on a DR branch line”….🤔
  7. Another enjoyable show. Good selection of layouts, and the catering was excellent too.
  8. Just be aware if you’re coming by train on the Sunday. It’s buses between Basingstoke and Southampton Central / Fareham.
  9. Still, got mine at a discount too, and it’s just beautiful…..
  10. And don’t forget the Southern Region….. https://sulzertype2.com/the-southern-regions-real-diesel-pioneers/
  11. I had a similar situation to you about a year ago, utilising my US HO layout, in that I obtained a mixture of Roco, Piko and Fleischmann HO scale (albeit DR), and can assure you that they will not run on Peco Code 83 track, or to be more precise, Code 83 points! Peco Code 100 points are not an issue, but the odd wagon still rides up over on Code 75 points. I dont know about Tillig Code 83 track though, and I’m not sure how easily obtainable it is either. 12. Hardly got wet in the end, the rain wasn’t as heavy as expected. 09.45 FastCat was heaving, bus journey on the mainland was straightforward, and the final walk was in the dry. Anyway, enjoyed the show, excellent quality of layouts even though my interests are either Continental or BR (and later) diesels. I did especially enjoy Northport Quay, 7mm Irish Rail layout, and a 5’3” track gauge replicated too.
