  1. Great show. Was there from 10:15 til just gone 5pm and did several circuits of the hall. Now reading the programme and I'm sure there's some layouts and trader's I've missed 😲 Eastfield took me straight back to my trainspotting years of the early 80's. Shame nothing was running and I echo other comments that this was common across an awful lot of layouts. Very little moving or even visible on the scenic part of many layouts. Great to see Wellpark again. Reminds me of getting the Argyle line out of Central low level to Motherwell daily for some 3 years or so. Personal favourite was the two Neuburg layouts depicting 1913 & 2013. What a wonderful clever and novel idea. Normally I only give a cursory glance to 'overseas' layouts as not really my thing, but these two were excellent. A great show, no purchases but that hadn't been on the agenda for this year. Edit: Curtains. Was that what was different. I did think the hall was very dark / inadequate lighting when I first entered, but got used to it.
  2. Having trouble checking out for this. Enter all my CC details, including a verification password that my CC Company send, but then the screen just hangs. So not sure if the orders gone through or not, but it's still shows as being in my basket. Of course, having done this 3 times then I may end up with three locos 😳
  3. Nice one. I would have thought either SRPS or AS would have held off with this announcement until Model Rail Scotland next week. Unless of course there are other announcements being readied for that show 😀 I see the text and the poster in the original post refers to the Sound Fitted version being £259.99 however the website has it as £269.99 if you make full payment today.
  4. Four years since I last made it to the Glasgow show, when all the talk was about this new infectious disease and the first few cases appearing in the UK. Little did we know... Anyway, just booked myself a hotel for the Thursday night which will be most welcome after a long drive up from Swansea. Looked at the train but costs prohibitive, so driving it is. Really looking forward to seeing Eastfiled, Wellpark and all the other layouts. Oh, and having an ice cream as well ;)
  5. Light clusters sit slightly proud and more so on the outside edge than the inner, given the curvature of the cab.
  6. Pre-order made for 60 062 sound fitted. Bit of a risk given that final price is TBC and the £30 deposit is non-refundable. I don't see why they can't give the price given that all the others in the range are known.
  7. For pure nostalgia reasons, I may pick up 08 570 as a display case item. I was at Haymarket when we set about painting all our 08's in bespoke colours. Here's 570 getting it's inter city liver in 1988.
  8. Excellent. One day I want to get around to modelling 08 795 and will be looking for Landore transfers.
  9. Santa's arrived early with my NHS Key Worker livery 158. Thanks guys. Have a great Christmas.
  10. So looking forward to these arriving in the TfW livery, although the first thing I'll be doing is 'de-branding' them in a kind of reversal of "Life Imitates Art" as that's what we're currently doing to the fleet 😂
  11. There is no RealTrack 153, so the only version available in the ScotRail 'highland cow' livery currently, is the abysmal Hornby offering. I can't remember if Rainbow Railways did their own repaint, but if they did, it was using the Hornby model as a base. Hence the excitement of this thread to see a detailed version of a 153 in OO.
  12. Oh, a 153 under wraps ;) Was already contemplating the Heljan O gauge, but delighted to hear there's a new OO on the way. I can see me in the market for several of these as they're very much part of my day job.
  13. Order placed for the two Arriva Trains Wales 142's. Hoping their will be a DCC Sound option to upgrade to nearer the time of release?
  14. This popped up on a Facebook group I'm in. I'll pop across to their open day and check them out.
  15. I live in Buckley but for the past 3.5 years have been in Swansea on a secondment only getting home 1 weekend a month. Started collecting model railways in 2015 with a view to building a layout. Every time I've planned to start, something has cropped up: 2018 got married, 2019 a planned house move which subsequently fell through when work asked me to go to Swansea. That was only meant to be for a few months but then covid happened and everything changed again. Anyway, I had a week off between the two bank holidays at the beginning of the month and finally made a start. That is, I made it to Thorncliffes and bought the timber and had them cut the baseboards to size. Will have a long weekend at home for the next bank holiday and hopefully will make a start on getting the baseboards constructed. It will be a long process but can't wait to one day get the trains out of the display case and onto some track.
  16. Just done an eBay search of selling prices for the Hornby Class 800 Paddington Bear ltd edition set, as I have an unopened one that I'm considering selling. Strewth, if they go for this much then I think I can just about afford to retire! Hornby Class 800 Paddington Bear
  17. I've asked my local model shop this morning to try and order me one. It's pretty much an impulse buy so we'll see if I'm lucky or not with their allocation.
  18. Just waiting for the Arriva Wales to be available to pre-order, although I can see a Northern one slipping in as well 😀
  19. Great to see this at GETS yesterday.
  20. The Collectors Club website gives the model numbers thus: Can't help re your other question.
  21. Just to say thanks for the 2 stunning Bachmann Class 90's I've received over the past couple of months. The livery application on both is absolutely stunning. A very satisfied customer.
