Surely changing a running number and adding a headcode isn't too difficult?
BTW 25057 preordered.

Call me a conspiracy theorist if you like, but I'm beginning to think that this whole SLW class 25 thing is an elaborate hoax, perpetuated by a secretive cabal of deep state actors, the illuminati and the CIA. Rumour has it that the so called launch event at Bentley was actually a film shot by Stanley Kubrick in a Hollywood sound stage, using AI generated customers. That is the only possible explanation for these delays.
From now on everytime I check this thread I'll be wearing a tin foil hat.

Hi Fran, looking forward to seeing you on Saturday and discovering what the announcement is😀 Fred
Announcement? Is there going to be one?

There will be another run next year after the class 60 run
Roll on 2025!

One thing the inflated ebay prices shows is there is a market out there waiting for a second run. I'd have another two blue ones tomorrow at list price that is. Plus 56036 in LL.

Anyone received a sound fitted loco yet?

Thanks Mike, it's the 4mm cargo wagon unrebuilt version I'm after. I'll ring round, can't find any on Web.
-
Does anyone know if there are any of these available anywhere, or failing that is a second run planned?
-
Similarly what's the point of all those coal wagons without a class 40 to pull them?

Not a great situation but it is what it is. If people are that unhappy then cancel, I am sure SLW will sell any cancelled orders so will be OK. I am sure the SLW model will be superb and probably the definitive OO class 25 but there are alternatives so it's not a captive market for SLW.
I'm unhappy with the delivery time, and the poor communication not the model. I have 6 SLW class 24s already and 5 class 25s on order. I believe their locos are among the very best, and there is no acceptable alternative rtr class 25 available, at least not yet, (Bachmann my offer a rival soon, but heljans is nowhere near imo) so canceling would be cutting off my nose to spite my face. I'm moaning about their ability to deliver models already in stock, nothing more.
Anyway that's my last comment on the matter. Complaining on here is pointless anyway, to my knowledge slw don't read this forum.

What's the point in Phil Sutton turning up at the york show taking even more orders when they can't cope with dispatching even the first two locos from the first batch. He'd do better spending the easter weekend packing up locos for mailing on Tuesday.
It's simply not acceptable to wait four months for a loco that's in stock! Don't tell me I need to learn to be patient in condescending replies either.
I was told at the Bentley "launch" event they'd be despatched before Xmas. Foolishly I didn't realise they meant Xmas 2025!!
And what kind of business would keep all that stock sitting around for so long, reserved but unpaid for? Couldn't they offer the option of collection from slw's base. Couldn't they get friends, family, or take on temps to get the orders out, generating revenue?
Shambolic in my opinion. With so many locos still to come, not to mention further 24's, this saga will drag on all year unless they pull their fingers out.

Any chance of limited numbers coming back in stock,? Or have I totally missed the boat?

Looking forward to a head to head comparison with Bachmann's.

Is there an announcement planned today?
-
Anyone got a sound fitted version? Is it the same sound file as the 24?
-
Now that the 56 is here and is a top class model, and the 60 is well underway in it's development, do you have any plans to announce a new loco project?
A class 40 would be very welcome!

Do they need to?
What difference would it make to your life?
It wouldn't harm if they took a leaf out of the accurascale book of how to run a model railway company.

If people moan it will just encourage the manufacturers to be less transparent with us - they don’t have to tell us things are in shipping / have arrived etc- we can just be kept in dark until they arrive at our homes. I know which I prefer.
I'm a big fan of slw, but be less transparent? They don't overload you with progress reports do they?

Though I understand that they're a small 2 or 3 man firm, it is a bit frustrating that they've had the models for four weeks and still not despatched any. Don't they want my money?

Anyone had any update on delivery? October was indicated at the Crewe event, obviously long gone now we enter December
-
Warley is just around the corner, so will there be a new announcement?
Come on class 40!
