  1. Make sure you check his luggage , hate for any of these to sneak in!
  2. The Australian Dept Of Defence and BAE here have both swapped over from Skype to Teams on their unclass system just this month. The Classified network will probably stick with Skype for years yet given the time it takes to get software security-accredited on that.
  3. A pack of Benson and Hedges 20's here is around $52 (£27...)
  4. And no one knows the Civil War with such expertise as that great historian, many say the Greatest historian of all time - Donald J Trump - this is a transcript of his rally on the weekend: "Gettysburg, what an unbelievable battle that was, the Battle of Gettysburg what an unbelievable..... I mean it was so much and so interesting and so vicious and horrible and so beautiful in so many different ways it represented such a big portion of the success of this country. Gettysburg wow I go to Gettysburg Pennsylvania to look and to watch... And uh the statement of Robert E Lee who's no longer in favor - did you ever notice that, no longer in favor? "Never fight up hill me boys never fight uphill." They were fighting uphill. He said "wow that was a big mistake", he lost his great General and uh they were fighting. Never fight uphill me boys, but it was too late... Well I don't know"
  5. I shouldn't mention that I have two of those, though they are currently stacked up in a back corner to make room for all the 3D printers!
  6. We have recycling facilities at places like supermarkets, service stations and universities. They accept glass, PET, HDPE, aluminium, steel and waxed cartons between 150mL and 3L in size and you get a 10c refund on each container, so its a source of extra money for some, and as a bonus the general litter lying around the place has reduced markedly. A barcode reader reads the barcode of each container to determine whether an eligible container has been deposited (rather than say a rock or something I guess!) The money goes straight into your choice of a bank account, paypal account, a supermarket e-voucher or can be donated to a nominated charity. There's also smaller versions that also have the same refund facility at places like beaches, parks and sportsgrounds etc.
  7. There have already been 3 civil and 1 criminal trial in New York involving Donald Trump, and 3 of them had juries - the two E. Jean Carroll cases and the Trump Organisation Tax fraud case of 2022. All 4 trials resulted in Trump and or his corporation being found liable so juries can be found, and can produce a verdict.
  8. Theres a list of42 questions that all jurors are asked: https://www.forbes.com/sites/brianbushard/2024/04/15/trump-judge-submits-most-exhaustive-questionnaire-for-jurors-in-hush-money-case-here-are-all-42-questions/?sh=7e88e78c5a04 In addition all jurors are asked to raise anything that will prevent them from giving a fair decision, eg "I think Trump is awesome" or "I hate Donald Trump due to January 6th" etc. Also both the defence and prosecution are allowed to select 10 jurors each to remove from the panel without having to give a reason, although it cant be based on race, religion or gender (ie the defence cant removed all the women etc). That, along with many jurors hesitation to serve for fear of reprisals if their identity is revealed shows why jury selection will take all this week and into next week possibly, since they need 15 jurors plus around 6 backups in case of anyone dropping out.
  9. Yay for living here in that I don't get hit with any kind of tax issue , and the postage from China is usually free, though this time its $20 or so. This was purely a spur of the moment purchase because I am perfectly happy with my Ultra 3. And when I bought THAT, I was perfectly happy with my Saturn 2 8K. I guess I am just a sucker for "BUY NOW" buttons!
  10. In the name of infrastructure spending the Govt here is currently knocking up a new international airport west of Sydney, plus the necessary motorways and metro train lines to service it. To get to work and back I drive along one of the upgraded roads which now has a detached cycleway along its entire length, but still cyclists prefer to ride on the hard shoulder. This doesnt really worry me or whatever, except that my radar cruise control will occasionally pick up some stray cyclists on the side of the road and jam on the brakes for me because it assumes I am about to run into them. . Luckily the cars behind me always see the funny side of this and respond with a happy little beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep on the car horn as they swerve and sail past me, 2 fingers raised in a friendly manner.
  11. Due to it working out that you were doing it on a mobile phone?
  12. As the topic says, I bought an ultra 4 in tonights midnights pre-release. I already have a Saturn 8k and a saturn 3 Ultra so I'm not sure why I need this but I liked the camera idea and the vat that tilts and I have a bit of a disposable income due to living in Australia so why not? I'll report back when it turns up and let you know if its much of an advance on the Ultra 3, or even my Saturn 2 8k, which is an awesome printer and the one I'd recommend to anyone who was getting into resin printing at the moment.
  13. On another matter entirely, demonstrating how cheap tech is these days, the Elegoo Saturn Ultra 4 3D printer went out on pre-release at midnight tonight, which is why I'm still here basically, waiting to press the buy now button ... Under $700AUD is a crazy price for what it has. If you are 3D printer curious, this would be the printer to get as far as print size and ease of setting up is concerned. 12K definition, self levelling, foreign bodies in the vat alerts, AI camera monitoring... Basically just unbox it, setup the WiFi, pour resin into the vat, and off you go - we live in a wonderful age. I don't need it, but it'll add to my stable of 3D printers ( number 8...) for when I start a 3D printer museum or something, but I want it and I have therefore ordered it. Main goody for me is a little camera that will show how the print is going so I don't need to walk down the stairs to check it for myself.
  14. No, see officially that's NOT a ute , rather some kind of little truck. @Ozexpatriatewill fill you in on the ute requirements as far as Australian ute certification depends, b ut this is the first ute. And in the name of gratuitous showing off stuff, this is my one after 75 years of ute refinement.
  15. In the 1970's "Cream" was the posh colour here, my dad had a series of toyota Crowns in Cream because he felt a cut above the bloke next door who had bought a white one. Then cream as a car colour just suddenly vanished for ages. Its now starting to reappear here, but only on "prestige" cars like Porsches, oh and Hyundai have a cream option going by the handful of cream ones of them I've seen. Battleship grey is very trendy as is matt black but both of those I'm assuming are aftermarket wraps rather than factory options.
  16. Was that commercially available or an AA special? Australian manufacturers by then were building cars more US sized than UK sized: But we still had some novelties - Lightburn put this out in 1961. The ultimate ute was the VF Malloo, then GM closed down Holden and are now committed to trying to sell us US MAGA style pickups... But, on quiet country roads, miles from anywhere on a moonless night you'll be driving along and suddenly sense something in the rear view mirror, and as it tears past you you'll realise that it was the ghost of the last of the Aussie V8 utes, still out there lamenting how sh!t cars are these days.
  17. Go even further east young man - 26 and cloudless again tomorrow!
  18. Here in the pre-airconditioned 70's and '80's cars came in every colour EXCEPT black and grey, because the Australian sun turned them into an air fryer.
  19. Apart from the seatbelt warning, my ute has just one warning chime , it happens when the traction control comes into play, which to me is a positive sign that I'm doing it right!
  20. MAybe you just haven't found the right polar bear specialist yet.
  21. I'm not sure what Suzuki called it but that shade is sometimes known as Rosella Green, based on one tone in the rump plumage of the local Eastern Rosella that inhabits the east coast. Actually that one parrot species could be the inspiration for about 10 different car colours, including Mickey the MG.
  22. In 1981 my mum upgraded her Fiat 500 to a new Suzuki Hatch which had probably the same motor (3 cylinder, 798cc I think). After the Fiat it felt like a Ferrari and was the first time I was able to reach 100kmh thanks to its 40HP! Being Australia, we also got a ute version but mum wouldn't be in on getting one, though she did pick this colour at least..
  23. Thats because theres so many more fun things you can do while driving compared to previous decades. Make a phone call, send a text, order something online, watch Tik Tok clips, update your facebook status, video yourself talking about stuff as you drive along for your youtube channel - all much less boring than just staring intently at the road the whole time.
