  1. I hope that does happen. The old model is still clearly in demand on the second hand market and given their widespread usage across the country over the last 20 years, I'm sure a retooled model would be very popular. I just really hope we see the original liveries such as Central Trains and Midland Mainline return to model form!
  2. That's fantastic, thanks! I think I will order D9016 this time round and hope that a second batch may see D9000 released in BR Green covering that late 90s period with Virgin Trains!
  3. Aye and I expect the site manager will be requesting a raise very shortly if it remains like that!
  4. Here's a video of the build from start to finish!
  5. The new Bachmann Class 158 is superb!
  6. Made up with mine in Regional Railways livery. I think the lighting looks spot on! I'm hoping they follow it up with Central Trains at some point!
  7. Absolutely! I was gutted they got put back 12 months. I'll definitely be picking up a couple of these!
  8. Some final overall shots! Spot the difference!!!
  9. My boss knows of my little project, in fact it was his 3D printer that printed the cabin for me! I'll certainly take it into work for sure to see what they all think! In the meantime, I got the fancy camera out and have had some fun taking some shots of the final piece. Finding it tricky to decide what to use in the final submission! I've taken quite a few and have realised I will need to do a couple of posts due to the 10mb limit on posts!
  10. Must admit that it’s very satisfying to seeing it in a cake box for the very first time! What are the rules on locos for the final submission? I have the Sentinel and Plasser which were both projects which resulted from this build. Would love to have a photo of each in the final submission, but will otherwise just stick with the Sentinel.
  11. The backyards look fantastic, really well detailed!
  12. I really like that. Perhaps a welding effect from inside the workshop might look effective?
  13. Apologies for lack of content over the last few weeks, time seems to have crept up quickly! anyway, here’s some snaps of what I’ve been up to. I’ve decided to go with a single cabin but raise it on some concrete slabs.mi feel this balances well with the Sentinel. I’ve also started on my stack of sleepers and added some much needed signage. I’ve also stuck my fence in and added some weeds in behind. The on-site labourer clearly needs to get the strimmer out as it’s starting to creep through the fence! Just a pile of rails to go now!
  14. Thanks! I’ve really enjoyed trying out some new techniques with doing them! I suddenly find myself eyeing up more vehicles that need the blue and white treatment!
  15. The cobbles look fantastic and I really like the band room! Really nice modelling!
  16. Still need some touching up, but quite happy with the results! The makings of a small fleet!
  17. So I’ve decided to park the cabin issue for the moment. Many thanks for those of you who got in touch, you’ve given me plenty of food for thought! In the meantime, a couple of additions! I found a Tube Lines Transit Connect that is actually coloured just like a Balfour Beatty Van, I’ve sourced some decals and got the T-cut at the ready! The second addition was a complete surprise! Found this plasser unit for £20 on eBay! It will also be receiving similar Balfour Beatty treatment
  18. Yes, I think health and safety man would have a fit over that! Anyway, thanks for the responses everyone, I quite agree that the cabins balance the scene well alongside the sentinel. I'm considering using the SMS cabins instead of my 3D prints as my research seems to indicate not many double stacked offices have the double doors like mine
  19. I’ve added a temporary back scene, think it suits the scene well. One thing I cannot decide on is whether to have a single cabin or a double stacked! Possibly a less is more situation maybe? Anyway, I’d definitely like to hear thoughts on this one! Single Stacked Double stacked
  20. I was just wondering what will be on the transfer sheet with the blank BCT one and how easy they are to fit to the destination blinds? I would quite fancy a number 9 as this was my old bus in the BCT livery, so I'm debating whether to get the BCT blank version or the West Midlands variant
  21. The latest update on the layout! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=12L4jZf2fZQ&lc=z22qtdsz2z3vttc0racdp43bnq20mtqiedhyqdyoz2hw03c010c
  22. I’ve added some ground cover around the arc welding scene and it’s now all glued into place. Quite happy with it.
  23. Hi Marlyn, I personally used the ‘Wills Modern’ range for this set of fencing. Quite happy with them to be honest, highly recommended! Joe
