  2. Bedford has now entered the next phase of MML bridge improvements with the closure of Bromham Road bridge just north of the station. Stand by for road diversions and traffic chaos over the next few months....
  3. Sorry I'm late to the Bristol Poly reunion - I was there at Unity Street from 1976 - 79 re "I have recollections of some GWR collett tenders, i seem to think they were from Castle classes (50xx) and my dad had the numbers, but i might have underlined them as mk1 TSOs in my book !!" You are correct - they were still there when I visited Swindon in April 1981. They were numbered '1' and '2' and were being used as sludge carriers. I too would like to know what happened to them...

Came across this fascinating vintage film at http://www.ampthill.tv/play.html?id=94 You might also be interested to know that the Ridgmont Station Heritage Centre holds an exhibition twice yearly at Ridgmont Station (nr Brogborough/M1 jcn 13) where Andrew Mortlock - London Brick Company Archivist - brings along a comprehensive collection of archive material related to brickmaking on the Marston Vale. The latest exhibition has just gone but there's another proposed in the Spring next year (2016)
