Why not use the bookmarks ? It's quick and easy to use. Underneath any post you see a bookmark button, click on this and it opens a tab, in the tab you can create a catagory so. . .my blog etc and save. At the top of any page you can click on the drop down arrow next to your user name > my bookmarks and click on any catagory/ bookmark you have saved.
If your reading through a thread from the beginning just bookmark the post you have reached and next time you want to go back to that thread and continue, go to your bookmarks and click on the saved mark for that thread. Doesn't matter how long you are away, your bookmark will be there and take you right back to the post you left off at. You can create any number of catagories to cover various streams of interest and save any number of bookmarks from different threads under that catagory
