  1. The Name of the Game - Abba
  2. The little bottle has a built in dropper, similar to an eye or ear drops dispenser but with a narrower outlet. The top is "child proof".
  3. There is absolutely no need at all to mess with CVs 17 and 18. The Z21 app does all the calculations itself when you simply ask it to change the address.
  4. Has the error in the handbook been mentioned here before? It says on page 9 that sound is turned on with F0 when of course it should be F1. The actual list of functions is correct on the following page but I did manage to read all through the booklet before trying it. F0 "opens" the firebox to see the flickering fire, and very impressive it is. Not very happy with the front and rear right hand steps being detached on receipt and my eye sight is not good enough for me to re-glue them so they will remain unattached. Sound is very impressive.
  5. DECAL. Deck-al or Dee-cal? I'd always used the former but having heard so many people say dee-cal I thought I must be wrong. I recently heard a maker of this commodity say deck-al so now feel exonerated. I'm guessing it is a transatlantic import for what we always referred to as transfers. I realise that vinyls are now commonplace and use different technology. Presumably decal can refer to either type but am happy to be corrected.
  6. Interesting to see that Rapido 902002 (£32.95) and Dapol 4F-013-009 (£11.53) both have the same running number of M701048.
  7. Interesting news today about Hornby granting a licence to Kidicraft, to market a collection of jigsaw puzzles based on popular and classic Hornby brands. I am left wondering how they would react if another jigsaw manufacturer brought out a series of jigsaws "inspired by British toy and model making companies". Not very likely though, I have to admit. Hornby licence joins Kidicraft portfolio - Toy World Magazine https://toyworldmag.co.uk/Hornby-licence-joins-kidicraft-portfolio/
  8. I'm surprised nobody seems to care that the SFX versions don't include a Stay Alive capacitor. It's a standard feature with Accurascale and an option with SLW. For the price, it should have been fitted.
  9. If you check out https://www.z21.eu/en/faqs-support/questions-answers you will find that the limit of smartphones or tablets which can be connected is 10. In addition, 31 other devices can be connected with the X-BUS. I can't tell whether this number is reduced if another device is connected by the Sniffer port.
  10. I believe some people have called it Gauge 4.
  11. Nothing to do with the APT but on a point of accuracy, G scale uses 45mm track but the Hornby Live Steam Rocket is 3.5 inch gauge.
  12. The steam effect did impress me but the gadgetry stuck on top of the tender looked very cumbersome and possibly difficult to miniaturise. I imagine a fair quantity of water would need to be stored on board to allow the effect to operate for any length of time. I hope I am proved wrong and that it will be introduced soon but perhaps it was just a kite flying exercise.
  13. My APT-E decoder is 2783 which are the keys you would use on an old mobile to text APTE. Similarly, my KR Models English Electric Gas Turbine Prototype "GT3" is 483. I don't need to remember though, as they are on my Z21 app. with thumbnail pictures.
  14. There are actually 3 S160s based at the Churnet Valley Railway but it is true that 5197 worked in China in the coal mines around Fushun. 6046 is also there having worked in France and Hungary. Number 3278, formerly named Franklin D Roosevelt at the Mid-Hants Railway, moved to the CVR at the beginning of this year for a full overhaul. It had previously worked in the UK, Italy and Greece.
  15. With the actual loco having been used on the funeral train on 30th January 1965, and subsequently being preserved, that would never have been a likely option.
  16. I recall W H Smith outlets stocking the Airfix sets at one time.
  17. This year's Bachmann release of the Class 121 Bubble car ( 35-525SF) has two options for the guard's buzzer and I wonder if someone more knowledgable could explain what the code meant. I am old enough to remember when buses had conductors who indicated to the driver by the bell code. One ring meant a passenger wished to alight at the next stop, two rings meant he could proceed as passengers had finished loading (not necessarily safely seated) and three rings meant the bus was loaded to capacity and not to stop for any more passengers. I suppose the same code might apply on lines with unmanned stations where trains only stop by request. The Bachmann bubble car has 28 functions available, several of which are unlikely to be used by me but F12 and F13 relate to the buzzer. F12 - On - Guard’s Single Buzzer / Off - Driver’s Single Buzzer Response F13 - On - Guard’s Double Buzzer / Off - Driver’s Double Buzzer Response
  18. Thanks for that. I now see that this was mentioned much earlier in the topic. I gave up following it when there was so much negativity and pessimistic speculation being posted.
  19. I am intrigued by the Toilet Pipe Discharge sound on F.8. Was GT3 fitted with such a facility or is it intended to be coming from an adjacent coach or building?
  20. The packages are being sent by James and James Fulfilment Ltd., Liliput Road, Northampton, NN4 7DT. I couldn't say for certain whether they are dealing with non-UK orders but I would expect so.
  21. Prior to 23/11/2008 Bachmann announced 32-480DS, Class 40, D211 'Mauretania' with indicator discs in BR green (DCC Sound on board). It became available on 07/03/2014 which is at least 5 years and 3 months. Sorry, I've drifted off topic but it seemed relevant.
  22. Thanks for your opinion David following which I carried out further tests and I am sorry but F5 definitely has no effect on the deceleration. I therefore emailed KRModels and Michael has replied "Function 5 is just for the sound effect. It has no actual application to the slowing down of the loco."
  23. Regarding Function 5, can anybody please advise whether the "Manual Brake Application" SHOULD slow the loco down? It only seems to give the sound of a brake application. Is that correct? I have become very accustomed to the effect of brake application on most of my Zimo sound fitted locos.
  24. Even easier if you use the Z21 app/system. Just physically slide them around the screen according to your preference. I find this particularly useful being able to group all the different horn effects together when there are several, spread over a wide range of function numbers.
  25. I find it very strange that only a week ago he sold a properly described and illustrated similar item starting at the same price. See item number 313436399122 at https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Scalecraft-OO-scale-Roadrailer-AEC-Mandator-Bogie-kit-Unbuilt-/313436399122?nma=true&si=lkmjjuLxq1pZddUplZVtn90LvZg%3D&orig_cvip=true&nordt=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557 I imagine that there will be more tractor units about than the actual trailer/van vehicles, several of which would be required to form a half convincing train.
