Whilst the 'other' WCML layout looks mighty fine, is an accomplishment and no doubt raises funds for Chester Cathedral, I'd much rather be watching trains banked up Shap.
Maybe there will be more space to spread out to watch Shap if everyone else is looking at t'other one.
It's not size that matters....
Totally agree. I think I will be spending a long time on Saturday at Shap!

I’ve just built some 16 ton minerals so it will be 16 ton mineral wagons.

I have just picked up Alice from Tony’s trains. She is beautiful.

I arrived at the NEC at 2:15 on Thursday and left today at 17:30... car on fire on rhe M1 slowed the traffic on my way home.
Nice to get to some RMwebbers who came and had a go at weathering!
Time for some sleep!

I spent a bit of time with you on Saturday and would like to say thank you for the encouragement you gave me. Never been to the show before and really enjoyed speaking to the experts who willingly passed on advice.

You just can't trust anyone anymore, can you.
They said never again - and what happens?
They go and do it again.
What a wonderful collection of images - and the occasional splash of colour really lifts the black and white imaging into a higher plane.
Well done (again) to the Master Neverers!
Well said. I received mine yesterday and all I can add is “wow” and “thank you “ to the MNA for sharing these wonderful images.

Website has been updated. Six more books to come. 3 in the summer and the other 3 later in the year. The website is accepting expressions of interest. Can’t wait!

Stunning. Thanks for sharing as this has really inspired me to finally take the plunge and build a layout, rather than just collecting Loco’s.

Like many model shops the second lockdown is doing little to help trading conditions especially in what should be peak season
Tony's trains remains open for online ordering and click and collect. website is here https://tonystrainsofrugby.com/ and if there is anything specific you are looking for give Tony a ring . Delivery from EFE with the Beattie Well tanks imminent
Facebook page also here https://www.facebook.com/tonystrainsofrugby
Hi all
Just a big thumbs up for Tony again. Yet again he has come trumps with his service. Do give him a ring if you need anything, he will go out of his way to help.

Hi
I have just purchased a set of pre-tops. Could I have some suggestions on what would be an appropriate brake van to run with them.
Thanks in advance

Totally agree with this recommendation. This is now my model shop of choice. Do pop in if you are in the area.

Got mine, number 273 out of I assume 1,000?
If you are wavering-don't. It is truly superb and more than worth the price. Not noticed any sepia as mentioned, my copies are perfect.
One of the best, if not THE best set of rail books I have ever seen.
Almost all the shots are unpublished and the quality is excellent throughout. A bloody good read.
Ditto. Just started volume 2. I have to sit at a table to read them though!

Usually I have only ever seen LMS Brake Vans behind a rake of ICI Hoppers myself...
There is an archive cine clip in one of the B&R videos of a Southern brake van on one of these trains. It would be exceptional though for a GW brake to be on any train in the northwest they were disliked and shipped back ASAP!
Thanks for the prompt replies.

Good evening all
What would be an appropriate brake van to run behind a set of these wagons and a 4F in the 1950's?
Thanks in advance.

Dear Deirdre
Could you help me please as I am unsure if I have a problem. I own 2 duchesses in LMS red, 1 in black, 1 in blue, 1 in green with sloping smoke box, 1 in green without sloping smoke box, 1 in br maroon and a couple of Wrenn ones. I have also had delivered yesterday Sir William, which has now replaced my wedding photo at the side of my bed!
I now crave "Hamilton ". Do I need help.
Thanks

I have used Hattons for over 20 years and have always found them to be brilliant. So when my wife started to raise the subject of Christmas presents I hopefully sent her my wish list from the Hattons website. Brilliant 2 locos to unwrap this year (must have been good!). Anyway, when I get home from work today i find a card through the door saying that they had left the package behind a dustbin!
To say I was not impressed that a package worth over £200 was left behind a bin in a cardboard box in the rain is an understatement.
As I have an account with Hattons a text message has come to my phone asking me to rate the delivery by Yodel. I am sure you can guess my response.
Never had this issue with the Royal Mail!

Hi
Can I just echo the comments of the other members who have issued their thanks. I look forward to some industrial fun.

A brilliant turn around in the current uncertain times. I can’t wait for my WCRC pair.
