I got distracted with the first video by asking myself "oooooo, what are those things with flashing lights under the baseboard - do I need any" ;-) Then the little magpie dropped off my shoulder and I concentrated on the sounds. Seems to me that the "sound off" background noise (ie train running on track) seemed pretty much the same in both videos but with sound on tended to obscure the actual train noise - cutting across the same frequencies. What I'm trying to work out is whether that is the case in reality - you hear a generic train noise which, as it closes, becomes a more defined series of mechanical patterns. Not sure I'm tempted by sound yet...

I bought some N stock this week on a bit of a whim. It sounds silly, and I must have see N, but somehow I wasn't at all prepared for how small it is. Having lurked on this thread for some time, I now appreciate your craftsmanship even more! Amazing stuff!

I use a sprog 3 with rocrail - I couldn't get JMRI talking to my DCC concepts accessory decoders reliably. Really was plug and play and, using the touch screen machine, just works. Must admit it's the only dcc controller I've tried other than the ez commander, but when used with a wireless throttle app offers e erything I need.

The lighted signal is brilliant. It's one of those series of shots that have me looking at the short, stubby things that stick out of my hands and wonder if I'd ever be able to work with something so small. One day... :-)
