  1. Dear all

I won't say much for the moment, other than a reminder that ALL models (whether acquired from myself directly or the DFR as the only suppliers) should/will have a numbered certificate included. If in doubt, please get in touch.

  2. Hi Owen

I've just received an invoice for my order, I have tried to contact you multiple times via email in the past but with no response (I'm not blaming you, I don't trust emails anyway) unfortunately I had tried to cancel my order but that message doesn't seem to have reached you. I don't really want to cancel it as its a loco I adore but I can't see myself being able to afford it any time soon.

    Sorry for the inconvenience.

    Rhys

    Hi Rhys

Thanks for letting me know; fully understand. Should circumstances change don't hesitate to enquire about another.

I'll be paying for mine on the 12th most likely cause I get paid again that day, just a heads up.

Thanks for the heads up. Have you had your invoice yet? If not, PM your address and I'll check. There's a few I'm awaiting confirmation of country for before sending.

  3. Just had my Paypal Invoice for Wilbert and an email saying it's ready for dispatch tomorrow needless to say mine has duly been paid! Can't wait

I think there may have been some crossed lines? The models are due to arrive end of this week and that's when dispatching orders will commence. Apologies for the confusion.

There are still models available should anyone be interested in putting their names down for one. I hope Andy's review on the previous page may sway you somewhat. I'm currently sat numbering the certificates that will accompany them - when I'm not sending invoices that is!

  4. Have just opened up my SR 207 and am suitably impressed with the weight of the model first off. The Beatties were very light but this very weighty!

Looks good, feels good. Will test it later but I can already see the BTBs need sorting as the driving wheel flanges sit on the rail top on one side.

A few very minor quibbles, such as heavy glue spots on the front lamp irons & pipework, and some white lining on the buffer beam, but nothing that bothers me all that much really.

I am sitting and hoping for an LSWR or Malachite variant in a future batch.

Top marks to Kernow and DJM here.

  5. The new orders go straight through the automatic system and print off labels. The older pre orders have to be done manually so take longer. They explained that with the first ones when I asked as mine was a telephone pre order so I was concerned it had got lost when people started to post pics ;)

I, and I am sure many others, were not aware that is the way, so thanks for sharing that.

More than happy waiting for mine - they look grand.

  6. Hi All

Apologies for going quiet on this; have had a domino of things happening.

The DFR are currently amidst a development of a new webstore, which, once complete, Wilbert will be available to order through. Those who have reserved one will be notified before it opens the general public.

There are still models available for anyone who would still like to get in touch.

  7. Model Rail dropped onto the doorstep this morning and I was delighted to see the samples featured.

They are looking superb and well worth the wait.

A few numbers changed that may be worth noting:

MR106 has been replaced by BR Late No.30071 (Formerly D.S233).

MR101 (USATC Black) is now No.1968 (Formerly 4326).

The price is also set to rise as of December 1 to £124.95 (£113.59 subscribers.) To be honest, they look worth it, especially with the front end appearance.

Now to decide which one I want......

  8. Mine arrived this morning and I zipped straight over to pick it up. Runs lovely, looks lovely.

I seem to be a lucky one - only the builder's plate had come off on one side; an easy fix. I'm not an O person usually, but am excited to see what we get next - I may be converted.

  9. Damage is a little worrying - wasn't one of Dapol's reasons for the delay this?

Hopefully, after such a wait, mine will be safe. Despite receiving the invoice, my local still has had no sign of his stock.

  10. I'm still hopeful to get this project going in the future. I think the crowd-funding is still the best way to get it from idea-model, but the timing was a little wrong.

One point regularly brought up was that people hadn't seen any/much of Dave's stand-alone work - Something I hope people would now be more comfortable with.

The market is currently being flooded with commissions, so it will take something very special to sit above the rest and entice people to part with their money. With recent progress on the new-build project itself, hopefully more people will want such a model...

Meanwhile, I'm looking at alternatives, such as my current Wilbert commission.

    Any other suggestions welcome!

    :P

  11. I've been looking up images of Wilbert and I'm seeing that it has vacumm brake pipes and steam brake pipes. Will they be included since the real loco has them fitted?

Vac pipes definitely. DJ's EP samples look like they have provision for steam pipes too; if so, yes - definitely also!

  12. Reserving mine yesterday with my local, I was told they were expectedto clear customs this week, and be distributed sometime next.

Think we ought to place bets on which is most likely... all worth the wait though.

  13. I was won over by "Thames" and have placed an order with my local dealer.

Not an O gauge man but these are too nice to pass up. Suppose I'll have to get a test track and some stock to go with. Should suffice until they release Stepney as preserved currently.

Though Ixion's Hudswell Clarke's are looking tempting........

  14. My only critique at the moment are the wheels. Very thick tyres and very old-Hornby like (metal tyre and plastic moulded spokes I believe?)

Just makes the chassis look a little toy-like to me. That said, for the price, I can't complain too much.

  15. Seems silly to ban pictures if you want to sell your product. Even if they're not approved samples, it still gives people an idea of what to expect.

I can't make the event, so was hoping to see pictures to win me over.

  16. May surprise folk but I prefer these NEM couplings to the close-coupling variant - better for shunting. Just find the CC's a little too fiddly for me.

Back to topic, and I must say that, even from an angle, those are looking to be a mighty fine set of coaches. May well have to order some to go with my Maunsell Green SR O2 (and the Malachite version that I know Kernow will one day announce especially for me... no?)
