The combination lever is attached to short lever on the shaft through the frames where another short lever on the shaft drops down and is attached to the valve rod. Much the same as GWR do but in reverse.
Agreed. The shaft is fairly substantial, 4" dia. It is held by two bearings, the one on the outside is part of the bracket supporting the front of the top slidebar, that between the frames is held in a bracket attached to the frames using some of the same bolts as the outside bracket, clearly identified by dotted lines on the side view of the frame drawing.
The valve rod is attached to the drop down lever by a short rod.

Perhaps these will help.
I also have an extract from the Pipe & Rod drawing, but it wouldn't fit in this post.
I can send in another post if it would help.

Hi Mike,
Do you have the reference for the drawing mentioned, sounds very useful
Collection: SR Works Drawings
Catalogue Reference: E 15407
Description: Cab & Splasher Arrangement for 491 with N15 boiler.
You will need to download the order form for drawings on the 'microfilm' lists from the NRM.
Here is another drawing that would prove useful. This drawing is valid for all locos mentioned after 1952. Same order form.
Collection: SR Works Drawings
Catalogue Reference: E 46800
Description: Arrangement of Live Steam Injectors for N15, H15 and S15 classes
Yet another drawing that would prove useful. This is for the Maunsell rebuild of the F13. Unfortunately this one is on the original drawings list and is much more costly (£27 for a digital download). You will need to download the order form for drawings on the 'original drawings' lists from the NRM.
Collection: SR original drawings
Box: 15
Roll/Drawer: 068
Co. Prefix: E
Drawing No.: 13387
Description: Pipe, rod & brake arrangement for A17.

There is a drawing of the Cab & Splasher arrangement for 491 available from the NRM. I have these drawings for other versions of the H15 and they are very useful, being fully dimensioned. Those for the Maunsell versions certainly debunk the idea, that seems to have gained traction, that the straight footplate versions had no splashers, they may have been small but they were there.
A small correction if I may, the wheelbase dimension between the 2nd & 3rd driver of the rebuilds was 7 inches more at 8'1". The firebox was 6" longer resulting in the cab front being further back, In fact the cabs of all the varieties were slightly different.
I'm looking forward to following your progress on this. I've never seen a model of 491.

My mistake Phil. That 'vent' is in fact a periscope that shouldn't be there. I had inadvertently left the layer on in the CAD file when I generated the drawings.

A couple of years ago I drew up the various coaches of the 6 car sets. 3D renderings of these can be seen on my Google + page, the link is in my signature at the bottom of this post
I attach some extracts from one of these drawings, diag 2507 RFU The chair is my take on the dining chair. I can generate a 3D print file of this which I can send if useful.
If this is printed on A3 it will be to 4mm scale
If this is printed on A3 it will be to 4mm scale
I hope this is of some help

After sifting through my Maunsell carriage photos, I came across some pictures of a very decrepit diag 2659 No. 7864 on the Bluebelle. The lead weights on the sole bar are definitely still there, as is the bottom step beneath the double doors (the top step is missing!). Incidentally the pair of steps beneath the double doors, whilst symmetrical to each other, are offset towards the centre of the coach. This is clearly seen on plate 100 (page 93) of the Mike King book.
A few years ago, I started drawing up these Maunsell catering vehicles, including Diag. 2659. I have attached renderings of this showing each each side of the carriage. There is also some 2D line drawings in a .pdf file (derived from the 3D drawing), which are to 4mm scale if printed out on A3 paper (unscaled). Also some pictures of 3D printed components.
I hope they can be of help.

Hi All,
I am after a few diesel locomotives Class 50, Class 47 to name a few and was wondering if anyone has already designed these on CAD software that they where willing to let me purchase?
Or would some one be willing to make these models for me on CAD if I was to pay for time etc... I am in the process of expanding my business so would need these files copy rite free after purchase.
If someone has the time and knowledge to do this this would be a great opportunity for someone.
Bit of a long shot but thought would be worth a try. Also just I will not be selling on them on Shapeways or anything like that.
Thanks
Forgot to mention these will be used for 0 gauge 3.5" 5" and 7" gauge.
Did you have any luck finding your drawings? I haven't done these, but I would be able to do them given the right information.

I DID go to a laser supply place in Riverwood, the receptionist I dealt with was adamant (Not the actual Adam Ant, obviously, I mean I asked her to sign my copy of 'Goody Two Shoes' but she just stared at me blankly..)) that the only lasererable plastic sheets they had was black on one side and white on the other. I told her I'd try one piece of .5mm A0 sized sheet , and fainted when she rang up the $75.00 price. Its currently on its own special chair in the lounge room, I'm still working up the courage to try out a little bit of it.
I'm surprised at your experience in Riverwood . I assume it was LST you went to. They are a major supplier to the Laser sign making sector in Sydney. They were certainly supplying various thicknesses of ADA material up to when I left Australia in Dec last year. Try calling a guy called 'Zed', he is in tech support, it was him who first supplied me with samples.
Attached are some pictures of parts I cut for Bagshot Station. The first picture is of parts cut in various thicknesses of ADA. These will fit into the wooden part of the model in the second picture, which was cut from 1mm & 1.5mm plywood. Other pictures of this kind of stuff can be seen on my Google + page. (Link below in my signature).

IPI, a plastics company in the US, also produce ADA, the same as Rowmark. When I lived in Australia (until Dec 2015), I obtained supplies of this from Laser & Sign Technology in Riverwood Sydney. I obtained thicknesses of 1.6mm, 1mm, 0.8mm , 0.4mm and 0.25mm, I have not been able to obtain this variety anywhere else.

I have attached a drawing which may help. This is a 2D extract from a 3D drawing I am preparing of the original Urie design, as yet by no means finished. It does however show the relative positions of everything at the front end.
To elaborate. the center of the cylinder is 15'3.5" from the centre of the Driving wheel, this on a line drawn on a slope of 1 in 36 from the center of the Driving wheel. The point where a line, drawn from the center of the cylinder perpendicular to to the cylinder center line, crosses the center line of the valve spindle, is convenient for establishing the centre line of the chimney/blast pipe arrangement. The front of the smokebox is about 2'2.5" in front of the chimney centre line.
Note the position of the motion bracket relative to the footplate drop. Whilst not yet drawn, the downpipe from the side clacks goes through the footplate between the drop and the reversing lever arrangement.
