  1. A proper paint spraying mask. It may save your life.
  2. I can't wait to see this on trains. Hopefully a rake of matching Mk2s or Mk3s. 87 002 approaching Parkside Junction heading for Preston on another Crewe - Preston crew training turn. 9th June 2020.
  3. We've all been there with airbrushing. It's one of those skills that takes time and practice. Very rewarding when you get it right. Persevere and eventually you'll have more success than failures.
  4. Excellent Bob, I made a couple of them when I modelled in OO. Ian
  5. 87 002 also seen at Winwick on the second of the day's two runs.
  6. I don't think I've shared this image before? 86 604 at Warrington Bank Quay 15th April 2016
  7. Zigzag Canyon, Make sure your room is well ventilated if you're going to run indoors. The fumes can be pretty unpleasant in a confined place. Ian
  8. I rarely use black. I tend to mix it with brown or grey depending on what I'm modelling. Humbrol Mat black and 62 leather being a favourite on underframes. (Copied from Martin Welch's book 'The art of weathering).
  9. What a difference. I'll miss the railway and the updates. It kept me motivated when my focus was elsewhere. Glad your making progress with your other projects.
  10. It's worth remembering that underframes on wagons in use tend to accumulate track dirt and brake dust so can have a very strong brownish hue. I tend to mix my own underframe paint to reflect the look I want to achieve.
  11. There are some videos on YouTube showing how to make your own thinners for Acrylic paint. Much cheaper than buying the manufacturers own.
