Good evening everyone,
Hope you are all keeping well.
There is a Black Friday sale until this Sunday at Sawyer Models, new items added every day. The sale began on Monday so I am not sure what items we may have missed as it says some items will only be available for a limited period of time.

Good morning,
It looks more like chemically blackened metal to my eyes, just like Hornby have done in the past.

Sawyer models have released a blurred picture on their Facebook page which apparently Bachman have allowed them to use and is linked to the new announcement. It looks like a 66 front fairing or it could be sawyer models having a laugh at our expense!
Tuesday we find out!Good Morning,
I have seen the blurry picture as I was in the shop at the weekend. It is a genuine picture from Bachmann. I am looking forward to Tuesday's announcements.

Good evening everyone,
My local model shop Sawyer Models has one of these in their shop window. Large red case with Hornby branding and perspex sides. It is no longer coin operated and has been converted to DCC operation us the Hornby Elite controller. Their Facebook group page has the layout as the header picture.
Hope this helps.

Perhaps best not to discuss publicly if that is the case (speaking as a former retailer).
That is why I did not mention any shop by name.

Good evening everyone,
Hope you are all keeping safe. The fact that there are no N gauge products listed would suggest to me that this has come from another retailer who does not stock N gauge. I know of one over the Pennines that does not stock N gauge and has assisted Hattons with Bachmann products in the past.

Thank you Charles!
Here is an image of Leigh Bridge Stabling point, one of the layouts which have very kindly given up their time to support the show which is much appreciated.
Just a reminder, we are holding the show for Macmillan Charity and it is within Saddleworth Museum, Uppermill, OL3 6HS. Refreshments will be available all day while the exhibition is on, 10am-4pm. Your support is very much appreciated and on behalf of the committee, I hope everyone enjoys their visit! Do pop into the museum as well where you will learn all about the history of Saddleworth including it's rich railway past.
Good morning,
That is a fantastic layout. The weathering of the track, ballast and class 40 is superb! It is a renumber as well? I cannot find a ready to run Bachmann version of 40087. I look forward to viewing this layout.

So most retailers seem to be offering a measly 10% below RRP on the new Class 87, hence £153 prices, which is an increase on the £130-140 the 87s were priced at when first released.
Hobby Shop Faversham however doing 87001 for £140 (plus postage)
https://hobb-e-mail.com/Hornby-r3739-br-87001-royal-scotstephenson---new-38356-p.asp
Amazon doing 87001 for £141.31 with FREE postage
No connection with Hobby Shop, other than a satistifed customer
No connection with Amazon other than a lazy customer.
Good morning,
Regarding the 10%, that is due to Hornby's new max discount limit for the first 6 weeks of a products release (similar to Bachmann's 15% for the first 8 weeks). After 6 weeks retailers are free to do as they wish with the price.
Hope this helps

couldn’t resist, thanks for the heads up!Good afternoon,
I was wondering who purchased it. Andy showed me it running on the shops DCC layout a few weeks ago, fantastic model.
4 hours ago, G-BOAF said:Wow. Newly released Class 87 obtained for £132.32 (RRP170.99, most shops doing them for c£153), WITH FREE POSTAGE.
Don't mind if I do! Thanks for the heads up. This was arond the price I was expecting to pay for this model.
They also have two of the Bachmann Ransomes cranes, which with the discount will come out at £186, with free postage. a real bargain! Shame I've already got mine in December
Glad I could help.

Good afternoon all,
I haven't seen a post for this exhibition so I thought I would do it. We attended last year and enjoyed it and we are planning on attending again this weekend.
The below is taken from a post on Facebook:
This weekend is the L&YDCC Model Rail Group's exhibition in Burnley. 4 rooms of layouts, traders & demos plus catering. Burnley Manchester Road train station about 5 minutes plus Burnley Barracks train station about 10 minutes away. Regular buses stopping on Trafalgar Street which runs parallel to the venue plus free parking at the venue.
All the best,
Charles
