  1. 50049 was renumbered to 50149 and carried the livery for a year in 1987 to 88 from memorry. It was then renumbered back to 50049 and repainted to NSE. It was a trial to see if they could use 50s on freight. The livery was also done later on some preserved locos.
  2. Thanks very much for the info. This is something I was planning to investigate. Still waiting for my sound equipped one to arrive. I might even look at adding the missing light in due course.
  3. Just wondering what the "Offer" text means that appears on a few items in this list: https://staging.hattons.co.uk/collections/all/search/brands/Bachmann Branchline/product-types/Accessories%2CDMUs/scales/OO I like the new layout and the filters are fast. I also noticed that when you go into a product like this one: https://staging.hattons.co.uk/10174/bachmann_branchline_32_452a_class_170_3_turbostar_2_car_dmu_in_south_west_trains_livery/offerlistings.aspx The "ask a question about this product" box is broken.
  4. Ok. I thought might be it after I asked the question. We wont have long to wait. I will be using 56s on the ARC ones and hopefully the Dapol 59 on the Yeoman ones.
  5. Do you not need a Yeoman outer pack? I will be ordering too. Just resisting as I need to get some Cawoods PFAs first. I saw theses samples on Wednesday and they look good. Great underframe detail as always from Accurascale. The bogies look great and will now be making an appearance on the JSAs too. A clever move. Surprised no one noticed 47901 in picture above. I must press on with mine.
  6. Sadly too late for me but a great looking wagon and great re-use of the PTA chassis and bogies. I always liked the British Steel blue ones. A really good price too. Less that £27 a wagon if you buy six. My wallet is a bit happier but it is going to take a hit soon on the PFAs and PTAs. Looking forward to the next announcement The wishlist team are going to have to make a last minute deletion.
  7. I saw the A class this week and the shape looks spot on. Very different from the old resin versions I was used to seeing. This model definitely captures the look of the A class.
  8. I had a chance to check out the Deltic EP. Impressively heavy model. The shape looks spot on. The roof grille etchings were very fine. Very impressive even at this stage.
  9. Thanks for the update. I imagine it will take some time to get them all posted as there are only 2 people. No sign of mine yet.
  10. Dapol have an exclusive deal on the 68 (i do not know if it covers O) but a 66 makes more sense. Otherwise I could see Hattons doing the 66 in O.
  11. This was on my wishlist too. Was tempted to buy the kit but figured I would not have the time.
  12. The TSO mk 2e has one toilet window on each side. The 2d has them both on the same side. Therefore one side of the 2d has no toilet windows and the other has 2. There are other differences but these are the most obvious. Covered in detail here:
  13. I thought Bachmann replaced the split chassis in the 03 a few years ago?
  14. I doubt there are any left anywhere. They sold out quickly as many were pre ordered. Your best bet is Trains4U as they will be first to have the next batch. They will be here soon as I believe they are in production. There are no grey stripe ones at all, they were not done in the first production run.
  15. I picked 1987 to 1988 for mine although not all would have existed concurrently in the condition I have depicted them. Some like 50011 barely made it to this timeframe at all. 50049/50149 is the only one I have duplicated so far. I must take a picture like the previous post. I avoided the dark blue NSE versions altogether.
  16. Trains4U will have them for pre-order: http://www.Trains4u.com New batch is in Production as far as I know.
  17. You are right Mark, it is off topic and is not related to Bachmann. It is about rumours that another manufacturer is to produce a high spec class 37. To get back on topic I should add I have about 20 Bachmann 37s and intend to get some more even if and when a rival 37 emerges.
  18. Never say never. The announcement was alledgly cancelled at the 11th hour last year. If it has not progressed sufficiently in the meantime then in my opinion a decision has been made for financial reasons not to proceed at the present time. Of course it could also be that the project is been kept underwraps until it is well underway. I hope it is the latter. It is definitely not a rumour. Work was done. Whether it stopped I do not know but after a year of silence, again in my opinion, if it does not get announced at Warley, then something has changed.
  19. I think if a new 37 does not break cover at Warley this year then it is not going to.
  20. Understandable as there has not been any news on the 00 version since it was announced. Hopefully there will be one at or before Warley.
  21. The original non-refurnished class 50s sounded different to the refurbished ones. A lot of equipment was removed from them during refurbishment and the ventilation system was changed. The sounds in the file above of 50002 in 1980 are not available in any of the sound chips on the market. All those sound chips are refurbished examples. The current sound chips can make lots of hoover like sounds but they are not the same ones that gave the class its nickname. Even though it is not that long ago (well maybe it is - 40 years) the original sound is hard to source in a format the sound chip producers can use. I wonder will we ever see a sound chip with the original sound? Maybe someone has done their own based on personal recordings?
  22. It depends on how bothered you are about details differences but 37906 cannot really be anything else, not even 37905 to which it is most similar. Additionally, even though the livery dates for the 80s the roof configuration and the electric warning symbols on the model depict the loco in its preserved condition and not as it was in the 80s. I did not buy the model of 37906 even though I model south Wales in the 1980s as I would have had to modify the roof anyway. The variation of the nose grilles was the only plus. I just used another cheaper 37 as my base model.
  23. Thanks Arran The Kein Hung and Tiphook are perfect to bring my Bachmann FFA/FGAS into the late 80s. Some of the Bachmann supplied ones are too 90s for me.
