  1. It is shows what other types of locomotive it can work in multiple with. Blue star is seen on many classes such as 40, 45, 46. Other locos have different ones, eg you will see Orange Squares on a 50 so it could not work in multiple with a blue star loco.
  2. So announcement(s) at the show and not a day or two before?
  3. Very pleased with the 2C, especially the TSO(T) micro buffet. Another gap filled. I am sure NSE ones will follow.
  4. Just 6 x Pack 1 TPEs to be precise. Definitely cheaper than eBay,
  5. There are still a few on sale here but you would have to pay VAT on import: https://irishrailwaymodels.com/collections/mark-5-coaches
  6. In the second picture 50007 has the door stuck open so it must be Hornby one.
  7. I hope not. It has the pre 90s warning flashes (easily changed if not to your liking) so I reckon it is in 80s condition, not that it is that different.
  8. C-Rail have done lots of different Bell containers. Bachmann have also done them with their FFA/FGAs and I think Hornby might have done some too.
  9. I think the Elite is NMRA compliant. The issues, as I recall, where with the first Hornby Selects and the early Sapphire decoders.
  10. It is amazing how many old control systems are still out there. I have come across people putting DCC locos onto layouts with Relco track cleaners running but the most common thing is absolutely ancient controllers outputting god knows what to the track. Even DCC is not exempt., some of the early Hornby systems were not NMRA compliant and could put 40v into a motor.
  11. I did not realise they had come and gone. That was quick. Not for me however, way too modern but I am all in the Mk2Bs and will be the same for the 2Cs.
  12. There is a chance there will be some on the Accurascale once all preorders and trade orders have been done. You would need to be quick.
  13. Well dear seeing as it is your birthday I thought it would be great if we shared a common interest....so to get your started..etc It might work :)
  14. Hornby would never announce something without having the rights secured, What sort of Titfield Thunderbolts do you think they are? :)
  15. I do not think you can say it is a game changer at this stage. You have been able to download sounds for other DCC systems for years. It depends on price of the system, the ease of use and quality of the sound. I think there are too many unknowns at this stage. Hopefully it will be good.
  16. The second run was announced before Christmas:
  17. I have something against the Hornby 2Es - they are not great. Cheap but poor models.
  18. So no original 001-004 in the 2nd batch either. So it will be a long wait and no guarantee they will do one in original condition in batch 3 if there is one. A bit of modelling on 59005 required.
  19. Thanks again to the pool team. My votes are in. In due course I will be making a case for the BR mk2E to be added for the next poll. We have, or shortly will have the 2, 2A, 2B, 2C and 2F to a high standard. The 2D is on the poll but not the 2E which only has the uninspiring Hornby version currently on the market.
  20. Yes, I am going for the late 80s with the silencers in their original position so in my case, I have to modify. Someone doing the locos in a later period would only have to correct the height issue.
  21. It is great that the exhaust can come out and be lowered. I am thinking of doing 001-004 so I will have to move the port to other side or maybe use a Lima one. The radio pod will have to go too.
  22. Many thanks to all of you for contributing your time and effort in the preparation and operation of the poll.
