  1. What about an N gauge Fell? I would not buy one personally but someone might.
  2. A HTV is a good call. I would say it is likely. I think a lot of people would like an alternative to the Hornby HST and it is one of those items that I believe the market could support more than one manufacturer.
  3. A Welsh based 3 car 116 is top of my wishlist. However, I expect Bachmann will do it eventually. I can see Accurascale doing an overhead EMU or another more modern unit.
  4. I would have to agree with you. The Heljan 53 could be better.
  5. I would have to say no. I do not want a Fran themed duvet cover or any other assorted club promotional items.
  6. I cannot see another 52 anytime soon. There is not much wrong with the Dapol one and certainly not enough to justify someone doing another one. The technical term is "commercial suicide". Plenty of lower hanging fruit elsewhere. Not happening.
  7. The fans as proposed/used by Accurascale, Bachmann and Cavalex are all separately powered. This can provide an extra level of realism - e.g on DCC fans can be coordinated with sounds and have various triggering features. The roof fan on the Hornby 50 was, as mentioned above, driven by a belt off the main drive and was therefore on all the time when the loco was moving and not on at all when the loco was stopped. This was not prototypical. There was criticism as, if the belt was too tight, it would affect the performance of the loco. Again as stated above, this feature was dropped from more recent models. Hornby obviously passed on this manufacturing cost saving ;) The second generation of motor driven fans are totally independent of the main drive and will not have this problem.
  8. Just to clarify. Kernow did commission Bachmann to do 37905 and 906, the 2 Ruston ones. However the models produced were not accurate for the later 80s / early 90s and included later modifications. Both locos changed a lot especially in the early years. As mentioned 37901-904 have much more extensive roof modifications and these have never been modelled ready to run, yet!!!
  9. EU models are indeed arriving. I now have my 50022 to go with my previously delivered Rails 55002. Neither of which are going on eBay. 55022 was very well packaged and nothing detached in the box. I am looking forward to trying out the sound.
  10. I do not know. They make a good job of using the standard class roof on their buffet coaches :)
  11. It definitely would but I do wonder if it will even be mentioned. It depends on how much editorial control they have, if any.
  12. You could try this to assess the popularity: https://www.accurascale.com/collections/gwr-7800-manor-class?sort_by=best-selling
  13. I am still waiting for mine. I am sure it will be here soon. The B word slows everything down unfortunately.
  14. That program makes my skin crawl. Like Fran, I hate it.
  15. A very common misconception that I see here all the time. They do not only all look the same, they are in fact identical. My King George V nameplates await for the so called "Manor"
  16. I am still amazed people think a 60 is a possibility. It is as likely as Accurascale announcing a new fully retooled Deltic to replace their existing one.
  17. No but it will feel like 10 before they have.
  18. I think the Bachmann Deltic prototype model is one of their best and it is better than their production Deltics.
  19. I live in hope that Bachmann will eventually do the 116. Having got a few 117s (great model), I fear I will be bankrupted if they release the 116.
  20. The 2z and the 2a had centre doors not present on the 2b or 2c. Bachmann do the 2z. The 2z is vacuum braked but is essentially the same as the 2a. It has the same body shell.
  21. Sorry, I read that but it did not register. Not so easy to fix then.
  22. Hopefully this is just a 3D print on a very early CAD which would be easy and cheap to fix. I am being optimistic but having followed progress on the Fell, I am concerned. I hope it is not another case of near enough is good enough. The excuses used for the Fell (that is was no longer around and changed frequently) do not apply so much here. While it is another niche product, other manufacturers are raising the bar with their offerings but KR models seem content to limbo under it :)
