Hi Prof Klyzlr hope you do not mind me asking , i see you did a HO scale version of your brilliant chicago fork layout . please is it possible you can tell me the measurements that you used for this . also is there pointers where i can find pictures of the ho one . i have tried looking and tried carls site but i only could find pics of your o scale version . no problem if you doint regards kevin

I suspect that the biggest issue with using status updates to ask questions - or say things that you want people to see - is that you can't guarantee they'll even be seen by anyone (leave alone the people you want to see them.
A better bet might be asking posting in a relevant thread (or, in some cases, via a PM).
I'm not saying this to have a "pop" at you - far from it - but not everyone looks at status updates. Even if they did, how long SUs stay visible varies - a lot - sometimes a few days - sometimes more like a few hours.
It probably isn't too hard to work out why SUs might not be the most effective way of contacting people.
I should probably add that many people (probably most who actually post anything) have made this mistake at some point - so please don't "beat yourself up" about it.

Thanks Huw it has just dawned on me . i did write my MSG and it was intendid as A PM how the devil its ened up in status updates i have no idea . i have been a member of RMW for a good few years now and not made a mistake like this before . all i can say is my lap top has been page skipping about before i have finished even E mails lately . or i just wasnt paying attension when i placed the MSG . what a twit i feel
