As I watch today, twice the RR workers have lifted a large steel plate up from the ground to fiddle with something between the crossing rails. Any ideas?

Sorry for the delay. You are correct regarding the heaters, not a item to waste time on.  The back drive units? I have been unable to find a description on the web, is that an item in the offing?

Well I think the rules should be changed so it's not permitted to link video footage of fatalities. I mean if there were CCTv footage of a couple having sex on a train I wouldn't expect to see this on the grounds of ' there's loads of porn on YouTube!'

The bottom line is that if something offends you, stop reading and move on. If the problem persists stop subscribing to RMweb and complain to those in charge. Arguing about the content on the forum will not resolve the issue if it is not breaking the rules.

Another point heating gismo following on from your point heating transformers. A vital piece and one that I would like. David

Unfortunately it has almost gone. If you follow the slip road from the A1 from Buckden and Brampton, the bridge under the A1 was the railway line route. That's why there is a kink on the A1 driving south into Buckden. The road utilises the railway bridge and had to be reinforced years ago to take the heavy A1 traffic.   Another bridge, at the further end, since demolished, is the viewpoint of the photo I posted showing the station. The line headed off to the Offords, swinging around to Huntingdon. The Brampton tip has swallowed most of it.
