I know it nay sound like ime a pure novice , ( in this scale however I am ) BUT  just how do I get inside a Mk1 Lima coach in this scale , as the second hand offering I have acquired seams to have been welded shut !!!

I've no desire to cause any damage

ALSO  I would like to fit interior  lights at some point,  can anyone  point me in the direction of buying metal wheelsets  ,as this one has plastic ones !!!

      Many thanks .

  2. Thanks for the in depth details gents ,all i am going on is a manual that is packed in the box that is in Four / five languages !!

Its got a line drawing of a tank loco on the font cover ,below is the half black half white word

      LOCKSOND   V:1

Inside it says congrats on buying a Mehano blue tiger  with pre fitted decoder !!!

I assume its NEW , but been sat in the stockroom for donkeys years !!!

The only funtions mentioned are F1 for engine on and off and

      F2 and F3  for horns !!

Strangely ,it says its set to  ADDRESS  " 33"  as default !!    NOT   3

        Hope, this may help ?

Thanks to all for your assistance ..

         regards

               Allan

  6. Hi folks,

Happy new year to you all !!    I wondered if anyone out there just happens to know the exact CV  number to adjust to alter the sound settings on a

     Bachman  class 37/  521

       (  32-394 DS  Colas )

It's new and just gives you a website to visit to obtain any decoder info from ..!!

My signals not to hot and it keeps crashing whenever I try !!

Plus what's the range I can choose from (  0 through to  255  ) or has it changed in recent years ?

Many thanks  in advance for any help

        Yours

  8. Thanks Richard ,but yes I've not modified the chip in any way at all ....

Small question ,could I use the "track - current" function on my NCE powercab, to freform a stall test of said loco ,without causing damage to the controller...just to see what the loco is " actually"  pulling in the way of current ?

       Thanks again ..

  9. Hi all, apologies if my question has been addressed elsewhere already....

Having read through many threads about Hornby TTS sound decoder issues ,I thought I would seek a few "2nd opinions " before contacting Hornby to complain !!

I've bought a new TTS class 66 decoder and fitted it into my bachman class 57/3  just to test it out (  patiently awaiting new release of 47 tts decoders ) ....

I am using an NCE powercab  and have a short ( 4ft ) separate test track set up as a program/ test track ...

The loco worked fine on both DC and also DCC with no issues ..

When I fitted the TTS however it runs with the sound on ( engine ) and will play spot sounds .

It runs for a few inches then either stops altogether or runs but the sound stops !!  It will restart after a few seconds only when I return the throttle to zero  and open it up again !!

This would indicate overheating of the chip !!

It feels cold to touch though !! I understand that bachman motors only pull 250mill amps and that the TTS will handle 500mil amps ..

SO ,is my chip faulty ??

The decoder is not wrapped up just held down to the circuit board with a bit of double sided tape !!

Any help would be most welcome .

      Thanks Allan
