  1. I had the same issue with 47376 when the the loco turn up in the post today. One end front windows loose in the cab. Took the 5 screws out. Body come off with just cab light wires attached to the circuit board. I left them in and removed the cab interior. Fortunately the windows glazing just clipped back in and then just carefully put the cab interior back in. Should be a quick fix instead of sending the loco back to the retailer. Also had 47526 turn up at the same time . Both fantastic models from Bachmann. The sound deluxe models are worth every penny. The new Bachmann 47 and accurscale deltic set the benchmark now for model trains. I am sure the accurscale 37 will do the Same along with the 92 and 31.

I’ve finally had the opportunity to examine and run my sound fitted 47012. Generally, I’m very happy with the loco. The chassis details, electronics and running are an improvement over the old model, with running very smooth straight from the box. Like some have observed with their fleets, my existing 47s are all a little “grindy”; the new model is certainly a considerable improvement. And overall I think the model looks better too but not so much that my existing ones look out of place. So Bachmann more BR Blue and 1980's Scottish locos please.

However, I have to say I’m disappointed with certain aspects of the sound file. I may end up going for a reblow but for now I’d like to adjust the overall volume, adjust the relative volumes of some of the individual sounds and remove/mute the very annoying 4 switch sounds that play ever time I change direction with the direction lights on. I’ll also try dimming the engine room lights. I plan to write to Bachmann to obtain details of the various CVs that will enable me to do this but I’m wondering if anybody already has a list together with the default values.

    Many thanks in advance.

Hi there if you go into cvs and use cv 63 and then you  can change the overall volume of the sound file. I turn my 47 down to the value of 100. Little less noisy . If that helps

  4. Hornby apt looks like a nice model. Just think it’s overpriced for what it is. If u look at rapido apt-e it’s stand out a mile regards quality and finish. That’s were Hornby apt needs to be. It just looks cheap for the price u got to pay for it.

  5. Looks like it’s been missed at the factory regards the sliver paint around the guards window. Does not look right. How these simple things can be missed I do not know. Hornbys QC seriously needs to question either on build quality or paint finish.

  6. Just look at there future releases on there website regarding Hornby. All there 2021 and what’s left of 2020 have  gone. That tells me that they have had enough of being messed around by Hornby. Also something to do with the genesis coaches direct competition.

  7. Yes both 50s are the same colour. The blue is totally wrong. The orange is not right either to dull. I have 049 as well going for a full respray in the new year. All of hornbys gbrf livery colours are wrong on all locos so I was not surprise. If Hornby can not produce the livery properly then don’t do it in my opinion.

Apologies in advance if i'm asking a question that has previously been covered but hopefully someone can help me out.

I've just taken delivery of 66587 from the used selection available. All seems ok with it apart from there being a red glow that emits from the centre of the face. I'm presuming that the light can be switched off somehow but has anyone else encountered this issue?

Hi there I had the issue with my 66. What i did Is take the body and the cab interior on both ends and put some black paint around the area were the red light is glowing and stops the red light bleeding through . The body is pink plastic on the inside not painted. Hope that helps

So have just run in Biffa and Cemex. biffa derails alot and has lost two axleboxes. cemex runs perfect no axleboxes lost but suffers light bleed on cab roof and when opened had a broken bogie footstep.madge elliot is still droping axleboxes but runs perfect now i had the large logo one for christmas and was and still is perfect

Hi there I had the biffa 66 today mine was derailing on the points. I notice the front axel boxes were lifting up the wheels. So I took all the axel boxes out and cut them and glue them in place. Not rotating now but has cure the problem End of the day bad design by hattons. It was a nice idea but it just a bit of gimmick really. Shame lovely model just need to redesign the rotating feature.

  12. For £260 and not to get the writing straight on both power cars is poor. The hst is a good model from Hornby it’s about time it came with 2 motors for the price your paying. Bachman are now doing it with the 158, 159 and recently the 117. Just hope they offer body replacements like they did for the Class 60.

  13. I understand they have low staff at the moment. When u send something U expect it to come back as u sent it. U take the sound chip out and the speaker out. Could not be any easier than that. Even took the body of to take the sound chip out. This is just crazy. This is so frustrating.

  14. I have   issues with the 66. 66433 Twice. First one sent back with the wires twisted so I could Not fit the speaker and one wire of the board. So send that one back for a replacement. Second one came put the em2 speaker and the sound all working fine. Put the body back on red lights went in the coupling end. Put the dc plug back in still no red lights. Put the sound chip back in still no red lights. Spoke to a nice lady from Hattons told me to send it back to them as it is. They will sort it out. Got told yesterday they can not fit the sound in the replacement model. It came back to day with the sound chip In the box but no speaker. I am not very happy with this. They have told I have got to wait until Tuesday.  If u see this Dave I need my speaker back as soon as possible this Is poor service. How can u take the sound chip out and not the speaker to. Don’t understand the logic.
