  1. I would say the rebuilt Merchant Navy was probably worse than the Duchess, so I suspect that could be on the list, possibly leave it a year or two though.
  2. I really really really don't need one, but if they do one in blue I am not sure I would be able to resist!
  3. The only thing I wish is that they did less sound/weathered examples. My list would be quite a bit longer if these models were "normal" as it would have included the hall, 56xx and the class 44. Also is it just me, or are some of the GWR tanks not shown websites like Hattons/Rails? (Particularly 32-078, 32-083A and 32-135B)
  4. The only downside to seeing the 8f released again is that it means it is unlikely to be a retool next year which I was sort of hoping for! Although at least there is still hope for a retooled large prairie next year!
  5. Well at least the green Hornby uses is better than that in the picture for R3566 (the rebuilt Merchant Navy).
  6. It is interesting that they seem to have given up on factory weathering, there doesn't appear to be any in the range, and surely the Q6 would have been a perfect loco for weathering. I think it is probably for the better as they never got it quite right, also those who want it weathered have multiple options of how to get it weathered. (Although the £220 TTS Flying Scotsman looks weathered, it isn't described as such and they did Flying Scotsman weathered a few years ago)
  7. 4mt 4-6-0 back, and in green as well as black! It was only done in black first time round! Also Royal Scot, Merchant Navy, 8f and Q back. Surprised to see another main range B17 being done, can't see that selling.
  8. One thing to note is the lack of any sale/special deal today. Surely a good sign.
  9. Although there weren't many of them I think the Princess Royal is quite popular, and is more in need of a retool than the Duchess. We have seem the Duchess fairly recently, but the PR hasn't been done for a few years. I think the modified MN is possibility though.

    Q6

Sorry for a diversion away from the very interesting tender discussion, but has anyone else had a problem with the Q6's connecting rod jamming against the crank pins of the second set of wheels? (The crank pin is fully screwed in)

Yes, also interesting that they decided to fly the Early BR and LNER ones, but not the Late BR. You would have thought it would be better for them to bring as many pre-ordered ones over as quickly as possible, so probably equally distributed between all three liveries, rather than bring stuff at extra expense only to sit around!

    Q6

I have a screenshot to prove it this time! Now showing in stock!

    Q6

They were definitely both showing as buy now when I posted!

    Q6

Well, in stock on the Hornby website!
  15. When was the last update on the Q6? There must be more news on this soon!
  16. Standard 4 4-6-0 as well, although apparently that is because of tooling damage. They never even got round to making a green one!

    Q6

Not much news on this recently, except that the delivery dates have been pushed from June to August in the last couple of days. From some of the photos it looks like it has an opening cab roof, does anyone who has seen the samples know if this is the case?
  18. A manor and large prairie would presumably be very popular models as well and key to some layouts, there are also many preserved examples as well, so that would boost interest from people at those railways.
  19. So the Bachmann RFO is actually fairly useless if you wont to run prototypical trains using ready to run stock, as Bachmann don't produce any of the other vehicles it would run with!
  20. Sorry to revive this old thread for a fairly basic question, but I've been trying to find out about MK1 formations, and can find little reference as to how a RFO would fit into a train. I know it has know catering facilities, just seating/tables, so how would it have fitted in. I am modelling mid 50s, midland region.
  21. But £84 for a Railroad hall... My personal opinion is the hall is miles better than the N2 as a model, I would have thought the opposite pricing here would be justified. One thing to note is that Hornby have listened to the requests for the mid-range items (e.g. the hall) to be put in the Railroad range, it seems they have done this with most! Now, if only we could have brass bearings on the star...
  22. The B1 is coming down to a more sensible price, £155 was a silly price to start it at, so I would assume rather than a last chance to buy, it is simply a price reduction, as I seem to recall it only appeared around December/January.
  23. I wish they would do one of these in green, the Bachmann one doen't quite look right to me!
