Looks very good. Even more impressive considering it's your first railway.
Can you give us some particulars? Scale/gauge, dimensions, control, etc.
Thanks for sharing
Thank you.
N Gauge.
10ft x 3ft split across two boards.
Approx 2ft scenery visible and 1ft fiddle yard (4 line) non visible.
BR Blue Diesel era.
Scenario based on S&T signalling upgrade preparation - but still semaphore.
Standard DC control.
Seep solenoid point operated.
Next tasks:
Semaphore signalling installation (working)
Telegraph Poles
Snow fences

Brickhill (S&C inspired)
in Settle & Carlisle LAYOUTS

Re the facing turnout Tony.....
The layout is BR 1980s. Inspired by Dent and Blea Moor and the S&C in general....but not intended to be strictly prototypical. The main to main cross over is trailing, but the turn-outs for the loops are facing.
Looking at Anderson&Fox, it shows a 1962 signalling diagram for Blea Moor with facing points for the loops so I guess the LMS aversion to facing points was relaxed in later years. The layout is largely based on this loop structure.
