Couldn’t easily see any previous discussion but wondering whether you’ve run Metro Cammell
Class 101 sets on WHL v.4? If not seen already https://www.railcar.co.uk/images/18252

Absolutely stunning work Rob. This is a serious benchmark. Interested in the use of tank wagons on the WHL. Clearly TTA prominent but wondering if anyone aware of the use of Class B tank wagons into the 1980s? Revolution's forthcoming Class B in N looks very tempting but struggling to find photographic evidence of same

Have just acquired Rannoch Station in N gauge. Tips on assembly please? Rocket card glue or alternative. Haven’t used Redutex but gets mentioned in the thread. Had wondered about using Scalescenes roofing strip technique too. Paint selections and specific prototypical colours? What has worked well and not well for folk? Thanks in advance

You want the ones in pool GBFM on TOPS, or on this list.

Anyone know of a resource listing which 66s in the GBRF fleet are currently RETB-fitted for Alcan workings on WHL?

They would need to have been fitted with RETB to work on the WHL. Doubt if anyone would pay for the fitting of RETB to a Strathclyde PTE 156 unless such a unit was being transferred for a lengthy period. As always though, I'm happy to be corrected.
Excellent point and one I had overlooked. Cheers

Have been researching whether any orange and black liveried Strathclyde PTE 156s made it onto WHL. A trawl of Flickr and my various books has drawn a blank. Anyone know? Was wondering whether the forthcoming Dapol could be reasonably included on my N gauge WHL layout? Cheers

Looking for any evidence that TEA bogie tank wagons were run on the West Highland or Far North lines? Have trawled Flickr and various forums without success. Have various references to the West Highland with plenty of usual suspect TTAs and odd Procor but no TEAs. Anyone aware of TEAs working to Fort William, Kyle, etc.? Or will be this be rule 1....?

I know these were rare sightings on the WHL, but any info, photos and links much appreciated

I'm beginning to model WHL in N gauge with a station largely based on Bridge of Orchy. I've ordered the RM from 2005 which has Ian Futers article on the station, but it's yet to arrive. Having looked at plenty of images on Ernies archive on Flickr I'm struggling to make out the building material of the platform sides. Extremely dirty and almost impossible to tell by the mid 80s. Anyone able to comment?
Keep up the great work Rob. This is a real masterpiece

I suspect most of the RTC fleet didn't get as far as Scotland - too far from Derby for trials works. Some test cars did:
Two pantograph testing with HST:

Class 150 commissioning:

More common would have been the for-runners of the yellow Network Rail test trains:
It's probably also worth searching for test trains relating to the introduction of RETB (radio electronic token block) signalling.
Steven B.
Thanks! I’d found RDB 975010 'Test Coach Iris' at Inverness on 9/7/84. Possible RETB preparatory work

Could anyone point me towards some good resources identifying consists for RTC trains in the 80s? Scotland ideally. Cheers
