  1. Hello everyone and welcome to my thread!

Here is my attempt at documenting the build process for my Model Railway, throughout the years I have dabbled in and out of the hobby by watching videos on youtube, scrolling through the thread now and again, my problem was I never had any space to build but now I have. my grandmother has now allowed me to use her attic to my full advantage.

The total attic size is 15'x 5.5' ft so a roundy roundy/tail chaser is out of the question, I know I wanted a shunting puzzle (inglenook), main station, and a high speed run through the contryside

As you can see I have already got one of my childhood baseboards set up on some temporary stands (suitcase and a few storage boxes. The Current baseboard is 6'x2'ft with a little bit of track and a few wagons just for sizing and getting an understanding of spacing.

So I have made some plans that I think could work for me.

The plans are heavily based on C.J.  Freezer's Minories, with the station’s throat joins together, one big reversing loop. The reversing loop side would the countryside scene

Before you go into the plans, I have marked the boards with letters Boards A and B I already have. Boards N would be new, so will need to purchase a sheet of 9mm ply/MDF to make the new boards

    Plan one:

With this plan, I have  a scenic fiddle yard on the station side to store trains and rolling stock when not in use (I’m thinking maybe a TMD)

as much as this plan works, scenically I don’t think it will look right as the seanic break will hide most of he layout when operating

    Plan Two:

Plan two moves the sidings on to the 'countryside', I’m thinking maybe some sort of fright sorting  yard as I want shunting movment so it’s basically  an extended inglenook

    Plan three:

    1229201803_Contrysidings2pic.PNG.9809f752443cbeb9d9c1ad445b03af85.PNG

Plan three is built upon plan 2, just with some more point work to be able to link the yard back to the inner loop

I would love your feedback on the plans!

My first plan before building will be changing  the fluorescent lamp for LED then taking the racking down putting the contents in boxs

    Thank you, Connor!
