Travelling down from Bangkok to Singapore in style...
https://www.belmond.com/eastern-and-oriental-express/journeys/4_198284
Only $3000 a ticket - one train I won't be catching soon!
Now this would make a nice model...

Here is a track plan. All self contained shunting in the box, but it would be nice to run it out into a fiddle yard...
The blank space is where I did a bit of re-modelling and replaced a section of the sidings with a warehouse as the later pics show. All the points are set track because of the limited space. I have found the class 04 to be a great runner, despite its small size, and it seems to have no problem going over them.

Thanks. It is just shot with a small compact in macro - I don't think it does manual focusing though. Being a micro layout, it is easy to move around and take it outside for the light.
I would love to make another one, but will see - not much space to store them!
Hello idglover,
I looked through the pics and it wasn't until I looked at another post that I realised that it's N gauge, I thought it was 00!
If you make another micro it would be great to see it from start to finish on here.
The pics are very good as well, if you use a camera with manual focus I can help you with a free program to 'stack' a group of pics so that the whole scene will be sharp.

Hua Hin is the Royal resort and the King used to travel down there by train. It is a great station with a library next to it housed in two old carriages...

For reference, this site seems to have a fair amount of imagery on it, including sprinters...http://gallery.rotfaithai.com/details.php?image_id=9766&mode=search
It also looks like Rotfaithai members are producing models for train simulators , so they might have drawings... http://portal.rotfaithai.com/modules.php?name=Downloads
When visiting my local model train shop (Zug Haus Fortune Town), I have seen models of Thai trains on display, but at HO size on HO track, so out of gauge. The best one I saw was a model of the King's train - I think it was going for something crazy like 100,000 Baht.
The shop is always busy and I think model railways are quite popular out here. I've used Zug Haus a fair bit for buying scenery for my layouts. The owner is a really friendly guy.
Here are the domains of the Thai model shops I know of...

I reckon that would be a nice project for someone that has a Silhouette cutter. Unfortunately Thonburi (actually Bangkok Noi) has a simple shack, which I have already built. If you live out in Thailand and fancy a small project, producing a drawing and photos would probably tickle the fancy of Andrew Burnham over at Continental Modeller.
I also need some decent roof shots of the BREL 158 Sprinters, if one ever passes while you are standing on a footbridge .........

Watching this with interest as I am have been living in Thailand for 10 years.
I would think the station at Hua Hin would make a great model:

Here are few pictures of my latest layout. Not a box file layout, but it has been made in two gift boxes attached together. Overall it measures around 60cm long by 18cm deep, with the box height only 9 cm.
The track layout is based on a Inglenook shunting puzzle, with wire in tube point control. For the baseboard, I used an old artists canvas frame as was already the right length. This was then cut down to fit the width, and a layer of mdf attached on top.
