Hi Dave, thanks very much.
I think you were right the first time - the sighting patch is for the old MR lower quadrant post which predated the LMS bracket, which was positioned so the signal was above the bridge level, as Dave F's photo shows:

Cheers,
Al.
Is that remains of a second platform in the right hand corner of the picture?

The progress is going quick yet looking very good!

Is there a grey spot on the bridge? Not sure if its just my eyes or if its meant to be there

Still here....
Been sorting this coach - all the glazing came unglued, so had to open it up ( nightmare, couldn't get screws out ) and sort it. Gave it a blast of frame dirt as well.
Most of my time has gone into wrestling with a bridge design for the scenic break, and it's still not finished.
I'll be prioritising 31415 next. I'm not allowed to start any new projects till I get some finished
What a pain!
The underframe is looking good

What's under the black cloth on the Hornby stand stand then......
Thats what I wondered, maybe another a4?

I hadn't actually noticed that the photos of the fiddle yard have all the surrounding content photoshopped out! Curiouser and curiouser...
Neither had I, just noticed since you pointed it out

What an impressive amount of rolling stock! Wish I could have that much

This looks lovely! But it looks to me like its lacking detail towards the back

Hi,
You can buy the parts with no problem.
Rail is rail ( you can even buy MSE whitemetal castings if you prefer) Brackets (you might have to alter them a bit), Dolls, Arms - MSE or Gibson, Lamps MSE. For a wider range of SR arms there is also a Scalelink etch available
Thanks for the help, never heard of those makes before but I'll give it a go.

Ok I'm back with something I've started making for my layout of Bude.
-
I didn't mean it in a bad way(if that's even possible!). And I might soon be posting.
-
These overwhelming scratch-built buildings are bullying me! Wow, I could never do that good even if I tried my best
-
What make are those coaches? I think their Bachmann but I could be wrong

Stumbled across this post and forum a while ago when researching about Bude Railway Station. Ive started progress (quite far into it know) and the amount of information here has helped me tons, thanks.
(I`ll post pictures soon).

Hi Alfie, welcome to the forum, I'm certainly jealous of you, I live 300 miles north of Minehead (adds to the holiday resort feeling!). Regarding the track it is all SMP which, if I'm honest, looks really nice but for me is very high maintenance (I've nearly always got my soldering iron out adjusting points although they're nearly there now). Personally if I was going to do Minehead again I'd use peco 75 points with C&L thicker based track or wait for the Peco or DCC Concepts bullhead track system to come out as I chose SMP before any of it was announced (typical!). SMP can give you good results though just be prepared to put the time in,
Gary
Aha, thanks for the help. Still feels like a holiday although its near to normal with the sun and the sea! Never gets old

Hi Gary,
Just randomly found this post while scrolling through recent posts, nice to see someone interested doing a layout near me.
Looking at the track and sleepers makes my feel like mine are incorrect style, could you help,
Thanks,
Alfie.

I like the idea of making it so you can switch between modern image and steam.
Brilliant work so far.
Alfie.
