There have been a few questions about freight traffic at Saltash down the years. Here's one:

Milk was loaded straight from road tankers and either picked up by milk train or tripped to Plymouth behind the auto or later the single car DMU. I've no idea whether the tanks were cleaned there or not.

Please can anyone tell me how milk tank wagons at these two locations were loaded.
Were the tanks cleaned in London or at Dolcoath and Saltash?
I have a photo of each location but they do not show much.

Please can anyone identify the location of the dairy shown on page 10 of Barry Norman's book Designing A Layout. As my my scanner has decided to go on the blink I cannot put the photo on line. I've asked the Titfield Thunderbolt bookshop but they do not know the location.
