  1. I placed my first order with rails at new year - service was excellent - fast dispatch and well packed item at a very good price.  Will certainly buy from them again online.  Will also try to visit shop at some point.  I have also bought used goods from their ebay shop  -  same great service.

  2. The Bachmann 36-151  has an 8 pin socket hidden away under the load.  The box is clearly marked 8DCC and the Bachmann web site also clearly shows that it has an 8 pin socket.  There is limited space under the load for the decoder.   The load is metal and needed for the weight so a lightweight replacement load to give more room for the decoder is not practical.  A small decoder is required.  I have not yet decoded which to buy.  The model I purchased new had no instructions at all.

  3. With SLW in market, It's unlikely Bachmann will now produce a 24/1,  the 158 retool should arrive at some point in the future..................

I don't think SLW actually produce a Class 24/1 so Bachmann may go ahead with theirs

  4. I have a Peco packing case that is big enough to hold a DCC22 decoder and small enough to sit on top of the ballast in the Wickham trailer.  If I cut a hole in the ballast to put the wires through and make it look as though the case is "in" the ballast does anybody think this might be a suitable method of hiding the decoder?  I have not taken the trailer to bits yet so am not sure exactly what the layout is under the ballast.  Any suggestions or comments.

  5. I pre ordered the maroon version with Hattons with DCC fitting.  Once in stock they phoned me and told me they could not DCC fit and did I still want the unfitted version which I did.  I am now,  like most others,  trying to decide how to fit the decoder.  Currently thinking about modifying the load in the trailer.
