Thank you, yes, I'm aware of these. In fact in what I've worked out so far, I think I've answered a couple of questions raised on the disused-stations page.

I'm working on a project centred on Loughborough Junction. Anyone familiar with south London will know the triangular junction and tangle of viaducts here. This is railway modelling of a sort... in fact the model I'm constructing is virtual and the idea is that it will show the development of things at multiple points in time. If anyone is interested in what I've done so far is here:

I'm interested in any old photos or anything else relating to the railway history of the immediate area. If anyone reading this can point me towards anything of interest I'd be vert grateful. I think I've already gathered all the photos that are available from the more obvious sources, either online or in books. I wonder if anyone knows of any private collections that might include photos of the station or surrounding area. I'd be interested in details that might seem insignificant to others... for example, I've not yet found any images showing the station entrance at street level during its peak (it was in a different location compared to the entrance to the current, much diminished station).

Any suggestions welcome!

For anyone interested, the Dollands Moor - Ditton train usually passes through London in the middle of the night so I don't usually see it in daylight. Today however, it did run in daylight, video here:

It might just have been a short term thing to get things in the right place after christmas etc. But I'll keep my eye out to see if it appears to become a regular thing.

The last couple of days I've seen something similar to this passing through south london around midday. (Running on a Daventry to Dollands Moor path). Is this a retiming of the overnight Ditton service or a new one? Train has comsisted of a relatively short rake of the novellis wagons similar to those in the photos above.

Found this thread after I had become curious about what's going on near Wolvercot(e) following a visit to family there at the weekend (I also took a trip along the newly opened Parkway-Oxford section).

On Sunday they had the down line (ie the main one) up and seemed to be relaying it - this somewhat to the north of Wolvercote. The down loop has a chunk missing from it (roughly opposite Wolvercote green where the pub is) and I was wondering why. I was also wondering why it was laid with a gap between it and the other 3 lines, but reading this thread it seems that's just because what the old alignment was (for unknown reasons)?
