Hi Brad, 50 odd years ago I was a kid living in a married quarter at St. Athan in South Wales. My dad was in the RAF stationed there. There was a railway that ran near the bottom of our garden, around the quarters, then across the bottom of the airfield. There used to be a small private branch line onto the camp, but that was before the Beeching cuts. I have just looked on Google Earth and the mail line is still there running across the old airfield.
