Front frame extension still has those small round marks on them, with no sign of lifting rings. Can you have express headcode lamps illuminated or just class h? Will the top and middle lamps have lamp irons? Much rather have 3d printed lamps than these ones Hornby are providing.

Even the big gaming studios are struggling, Insomniac, who made Spiderman 2 for the PS5, need to sell 6-7million units before they break even. The development cost for it was $350 million US (according to the massive leak that happened around Christmas). Plus they have to give nearly 30% of each sale to Disney/Marvel for licencing. Without game prices increasing its simply not sustainable. Throw in the fact games are taking longer to make and get on the shelves (sort of like what's happening with rtr stuff) it's becoming a pretty risky business for game companies now, Sony losing COD from 2027 onwards could be the final nail in the coffin for at least Sony unless they change things massively.

All this crap just makes me want an Accurascale Black 5 even more.
-
Ah Hornby, the only manufacturer adding details people mostly don't want. As long as they add lamp irons in the detail bag when people chuck these fixed ones I'll be happy.

This has made my day, can only imagine how John and the team must feel. Unbelievable development.

The next Accurascale steam loco in OO ???
Brocp replied to Covkid's topic in Accurascale / Irish Railway Models
I'll happily have a 2P from Accurascale. -
So it's finally upon is then? I really believe this is the model to really make Hornby and Bachmann re-evaluate at least their pricing. Door 170 pounds for DCC ready, with this level of detail, paint work etc you really have to wonder if the others are pulling numbers out of their arses for pricing. And flown in as well? Top notch. Now people at Accurascale, let's forget about the GWR and start making LMS models please.

Since Tony asked about weathering, here is some of my weathering from what seems like forever ago. I really need to get back in to modelling.
-
Well for the price it certainly should be.

So the 8F is the old tooling? Swing and a miss if so.

Photo is from 1947.

LMS Jubilee, both long and short fireboxes, fowler, Stanier 4000 and Stanier 3500 gallon tenders would be a winner.
-
Well they've got to pay for TT somehow I guess 😜

Interesting conversation regarding the cleanliness (or lack there of) of pre war A4's just as a few Duchesses show up in the thread. Pre war LMS streamliners could get filthy, even the ones pulling the Coronation Scot and Royal Scots, in fact I've seen more photos of grubby ones pulling these top expresses than clean ones. It's an interesting comparison of the two companies judging from photos at the time.

Extra detailing parts for Bachmann Jubilee
Brocp replied to TravisM's topic in Modifying & Detailing RTR stock
Wizard Models have the old Comet range, plenty of LMS stuff available from them. -
Possible not pulling The Coronation Scot, but in the "Power of The Duchesses" book, Plate 52 shows 6231 with a Saturday Mid Day Scot with the Coronation Scot set. Also "LMS Power The Coronation Class" has a picture of Black 5 5314 pulling the full Coronation Scot set on a special working.

On closer inspection (zooming in on my phone) it looks like the older tooling with the ledge, if this isn't just for the mock up, that's a big fail right there.
-
Well probably not, since it seems to be the correct 9 ton tender with straight steps and roller bearing axle boxes from the photo

Not a fan of bullies like Hornby have become, they've played with fire before and this time they will get burnt.

Black 5. Knowing you guys it'll be cheaper and much better than the new Hornby one

I'd really love to see some updates from Iain, since this is his thread
