We purchased our Emblaser 1 at the beginning of 2018 and it's had much use over the months. My first efforts were small bits and pieces to practice on but here is my first full model. For those interested it's a representation of the Halt at Bowers Junction (between Allerton Bywater and Kippax), alas no longer there.
The reason for Starting this blog is to share my experiences with the Emblaser......I have to say I'm very pleased with it and the results are far superior than I could manage without it.
I didn't take any pics during the build but I'm ready to start my next one and if there's any interest I'll add progress notes and pics. My next project is the signal box at the same location.

Like most people I guess I start with some research prior to hitting the work bench.
Fortunately there's a couple of decent photos of the Allerton Main signal box and I've been able to get some good measurements. I find using some 3D software (123D Design) on my iPad I get to really appreciate how things are constructed. Ultimately this really helps during the build phase.
Here's a few shots of the pre work.

This photo is taken from the field at the other side of the line. You can make out where the Halt was and the signal box were.

This is a nice detailed one of the Halt and steps and part of the bridge under pass.

A bit more laser work today.
This is the wooden frame for the internal front wall.

To create the front wall I've sandwiched these 4 Layers

    Here's the back wall complete

.....and the two together ready for the ends, but that's for the weekend.

    15th Sept 2018
A little more progress this weekend but not much due to mainly house decorating duties.
Side walls all prepared ready for construction with front and back.

.......but first I need to get on with the windows.
    Front middle windows drawn up.

First windows and surround all cut and ready for gluing.

Surround glued on and window test fit.

    A close up........

Quite a few hours at the bench this weekend.
    Here's the progress:-

Inner side walls drawn up and lasered.

Front and rear inner walls stained

More windows cut (ready for the spray booth)

Outer walls painted & first windows painted up and temporary fitted (need glazing).

Then a little distraction project......lever frame for the signal box.
Thought I'd try making it all from the same material as the SB - 0.6 mm plywood.

    The base:-

    The levers:-

Dipped in super glue to strengthen

    Painted:-

    Completed:-
Not too bad to the naked eye.

After a few weeks catching up on other stuff outside the modelling room and a week away in the caravan with the better half in Jervis Bay......I’ve managed a little time at the bench today.

The signal box walls and floor are now one and the corner pieces added. Also fitted a few more windows. Slow progress but I’m pleased how it’s turning out.

Also, I’ve started to think about the interior and been playing on my iPad 3D software.
