  1. Okay, the slipping is a bit of a concern, however did require a little force from me to occur. The loco still happily takes my take I need it to pull around. I genuinely cannot seem to find the issue with gears which seem to be causing the problem (the axle gear and the adjacent one). Ran both through with a fine flathead in ever notch, but no change. The way this is happening makes me think it was a factory issue (told it’s never been ran, whether that’s true or not though.)
  2. It seems the issue may be coming from this gear with this slightly wider notch but I somehow feel this wouldn’t make such the major ‘bounce’ and is probably a design feature anyway.
  3. Thank you for your reply. Here’s a video of it running slower, hopefully is okay. I’ve also got a video of me holding wheels in place and axle gear still spinning (not great I know), but proves issue isn’t with the wheels or con rods.
  4. Another video of the bottom of the chassis showing one axle wobbling about.
  5. Hi all, Just purchased a Bachmann 7F from online. Been told it has never been run, and to be fair it is in excellent condition. Ran it for the first time shortly ago however every wheel rotation the model seems to ‘jump’. Seems to be coming from somewhere in the mechanical at the cab end. I’ve no experience in mechanisms or taking models apart to a large extent so any help would be appreciated. Thank you. video of loco running issue as YouTube unlisted link
  6. Hi, I purchased a 6 function LaisDCC decoder and I’ve now put it inside the 08. Now, the shunt lights at one end are always on, whilst the rest of the functions operate normally. F2 turns on/off the shunt lights at only the one end (like before) whilst F3 makes the other end lights go ever so slightly dimmer and seems to make the loco jitter with no influence of movement or stopping from the controller, forcing me to switch the power off. (Photos of the lights before and after F3, become slightly dimmer, attached) All seems rather odd 😂 Any help on wether these issues can be fixed would be great Thank you
  7. Ok thank you, how do I find out if my model is from the second batch?
  8. Ah thanks, I suppose that’s the answer! - 4 Function it is. Would this be the one for the job to allow all lights to be controlled, LaisDCC 21 Pin 6 Function decoder? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Laisdcc-21-Pin-Dcc-Decoder-6-Function-/125150128114?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l6249&mkrid=710-127635-2958-0
  9. Hi, Taking a look at the chip now, on the top it reads Rev A and on the bottom SoundTraxx and MC1H10421P. All on a green PCB. I believe the chip was purchased in 2016. 2 Photos of the chip are also attached. So, would this not be a 6 function chip? Thank you
  10. Hi 👋 I recently purchased a Dapol O Gauge 08 and ran it on DC for a period. On DC the top headlights at either end work when in the appropriate direction. I then fitted a standard Bachmann 21 pin decoder to the model, which should allow at the press of a function key to turn on the bottom white and red shunting lights at both ends. However, the shunting lights only appear at one end and not the other. So I’m short, headlights work at either end however shunting lights only work at one end. Would anyone have any ideas why this happens? I’ve struggled to look but I believe the shunting lights at the non working end are all connected up with no obvious wire damage which leads me to believe it’s a decoder / DCC issue. DCC isn’t really my strong suit so if it is the issue, an explanation on how to fix would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.
  11. Hello,

Sorry I haven't spoken in a while, not a lot has really happened. So I have started to work fully on my small layout, and I have a lot of plans for it, however I need a name so that I can get the personalisation out of the way. So the layout is a small village/town set between 2004-2008 at the time of One Anglia trains in the east of England. It is set as a preserved railway that runs regular preserved trains but also has One Anglia trains come in to move passengers around the country. It has two platforms, a yard which is used by the preservation group for the preserved trains and there is also a car park that has a track to load trains that are moved around the country by lorry to the railway. So basically just a preserved and national railway combined. Please leave suggestions for the name, Id like the name to finish in park or road however it does not matter if you have a good name that doesn't feature one of those.

    Thanks!

  12. Sorry I haven't said anything in a while, I've started a new smaller model railway but don't worry I'm still working on Typs Junction. Feel free to give me some ideas of names. It is post 2004 small country station with a heritage line. I'll be posting pictures soon! Thanks for reading this small message! TypsJunction J
  13. Today I was thinking about one of my favourite train stations, Bristol Temple Meads. I looked up some photos from the days back when the station was filled of British Rail HSTs and smaller units. I found some photos and saw what sort of place it was 10-20years ago. One photo was a picture of a Virgin Voyager going through Bristol Temple Meads, this really made me think... Virgin trains don't go into Bristol. After a bit of research though I found this on Wikipedia: The Class 220 Voyager was built to operate Cross Country intercity services. 34 four-car sets were built between 2000 and 2001 and operated by Virgin Trains. With Virgin's loss of the Cross Country franchise, these were all transferred to the new operator CrossCountry in November 2007. The thing is that CrossCountry trains do go into Bristol so it must of been at the time of the change of hands or maybe Virgin operated Voyager services into Bristol, though I found a picture of a 5-car unit with red sideboards on a line in Bristol (that picture is attached) on google earth. So that might of been a Virgin Voyager. Virgin Trains is my favourite operator followed bro GWR. What do you think? Please take a look at the pictures I found on the internet- they are attached to this post. Typs Junction J
  14. This shop is so good, 10/10 from me. Way better than what I do!
  15. Here is one of my best pictures of my model railway, please take a look at it. It includes some gauge master trees, Oxford die-cast vehicles and my beloved Hornby FGW HST in the background. Typs Junction J
