Back on Sunday November 13th 1977 i sampled the following power en route from Bath to Swansea that Autumn Sunday. After 47129 it would have been a DMU/HST back from Newport to Cardiff, like many of us iregret not recording DMUs and HSTs at the time..

After working the final East Croydon- M.Keynes Southern service (the 1710 ex East Croydon) the Selhurst based train crew pose by the traction 377214 and 377201 on May 14th 2022 prior to working the 1913 ex m.Keynes back to East Croydon. Unfortunately the servic eis being cut back to and from Watford Jn from the timetable change tomorrow

310060 arrives at Leighton Buzzard in Jan 83. This is unusual is that it is a 12 car formation which were unusual on local service trains at the time and from memory was the result of a failure. Top units them AM10s!

The train crew check 47643 out after shes battled through the snow on the 2110 Euston - Inverness Highlander on January 17th 1991

heard from somebody that lived by the line in the 70s was that on occasions a 25 would haul/propel the bubble car up and down the short branch on "plenty trips" presuume due a unit failure or bad leaf fall..

25037 heads past Dunstable Vauxhalls with the evening cement empties  bound for Northfleet on April 9th 1986. The 25 would normally work just to Luton with a Southern 33 taking over there. An  apalling busway now covers the track bed that at least 145 different 25s worked along over the years.. A photo from the late Tony Ewer (out of his lounge window!)

With the booked Bedford crew on board 45143 accelerates past Dunstable Vauxhalls light engine after working the morning cement in 2 portions from Luton Bute St on a murky morning of March 14th 1984, 2 x 33 would have worked this train from Northfleet to Luton.

108 different 45s visited the Dunstable branch mainly on the morning cements, incl all the 451s plus 2 46s making an impressive 110.

This fascinating line is now a busway!!!
