Best to empty the loft completely while you can still get up there as the day will come when you can't get up there. I can no longer get up into my loft but luckily I've only got some empty boxes up there.
That's on my to do list, the railway was moved first a couple of years back, the rest will go this year.

Well my old club pulled off a fine win in the last game of the season to win and remain in National league 1 next season, the less said about the neighbours 5 miles up the road who managed to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory against Bristol.

I now start my peas in the greenhouse and then plant out, get much better germination rates, just planted out the first batch, I don't sow them all at the same time, the idea being they won't all crop at once, sort of works as the last sowing usually races ahead and catches up a bit.

No Swallows up here in Polar Bear country, have seen Sand Martins and a couple of House Martins, no Cuckoos yet though.

We tend to buy meat, fish and some fruit and vegetables from market traders on a Wednesday and Saturday and bread, cakes and pastries as well as cheese from a local delicatessen. Milk is delivered in glass bottles to our doorstep three times a week. Other things are mainly bought from a supermarket but we don’t use delivery services because we prefer to see what we are buying, want to reduce the amount of single use plastic we use and to help preserve the existence of real shops.Dave
I am aware of a dairy in Forfar that still delivers milk, but not seen one anywhere else in these parts.

Last day of the season in National league 1, my old club Leicester Lions need to win tomorrow at Sale FC or they could be relegated. Tough old league with some famous old clubs, Blackheath, Moseley, Richmond to name just a few. I've been watching the games on youtube, pretty good standard, certainly higher than when I was playing for sure.

We buy meat from the farmer or on occasion a butcher, fruit and veg from the fruit and veg shop or farmers market, bread from the village cafe or the town bakers, non perishables from the supermarkets. During the summer fruit and veg comes from the garden, potatoes are delivered by the coal man..................(who is a farmer who also diversifies).

Remote shopping was tested during lockdown with Asda, Morrisons, Tesco and Sainsburys, the latter was by far the better, they don't seem to substitute so much, though the furthest away, delivery charges are cheaper, so we stick to them and pop in for odds 'n' sods from Mozzers or Tesco's as required.

We don't. our shop is 20 odd miles away and at £2 for delivery it's cheaper than driving there, if they finish it, we will go to Tesco or Morrisons who are less than 10 miles away.

Planted a few more seed grown onions, not in a rush to do much as it's snowing at lower levels just up the road in Aberdeenshire.

Happy Birthday fellow Tiger........................................
Height of excitement, the washing machine packed up so a trip into town to order a new one, we have realised we had the old one fitted when we bought this place and had a new kitchen, so 20 plus years old, so I guess it owes us nothing. We also realised it's not the record. the Zanussi we got as a wedding present lasted even longer, 2 washing machines in over 40 years, maybe a record?. I replaced the hob and the fan oven, so we now are nervously looking at the fridge, as that was also installed over 20 years ago.............................tight...................me?...........frugal is how I describe my self, though the wife has another phrase for it.
