were lms engineering wagons painted bauxite immediately on grouping or did they appear in grey during the early days? im looking at around 1926/7.
the reason i ask is becuse of this Hornby wagon. is it wrong?
-
let the gouging commence, especially as many reatilers still have these in stock at the normal price! LINK

got mine, lovely looking loco. very happy.
-
so many unessesrily rude and sarcastic comments, what an unpleasent place this forum is sometimes.
maybe companies like oxford are sick of everyone complaining at everything they do and have just decided to do what they want. sad to see so much petiness when manufacturers dont give people the specific models they wanted.

Hi All,
I’ve just had news that the model will also be on display at Warley this weekend.
Thanks
Mark
which stand or stand number?
-
i saw a video on youtube of a sound one of these. looked nice and sounded nice. might think about getting one.
-
modern tooled 66?
-
just read the engine shed blog and think its a real shame Hornby had to dedicate so much of it to dealing with more color whinging. why cant anyone ever wait until they see a model in the flesh before claiming a color is wrong?
pictures never look like the real model. far too many armchair moaners who think they are reincarnated painters from crewe works!
-
I've seen no reports effecting this model. Only the three initial releases from 2005 (R2413, R2420, R2421).
that makes me feel better about it, now I can just enjoy the loco.
-
so can we all agree i was wrong about the bloody chinese loco and just move on? i'm kinda regreting joining this forum.
-
editied because i cant be bothered

i have just bought a new condition r2963 class 31 in regional railways livery and im now worrying about the chassis. is this one of the models effected or is it modern enough to have avoided the issues?
also i see someone mentioned the class 50s, is the current r3471 indomitable affected by chassis or running prolbems? i hope these 2 models are not going to fall apart in my hands!
-
i was not moaning, i was just saying that it makes me sad i cant aford this lovely model.
-
i have only just found out about this. i want this loco so bad, but the price tag is too rich for me
-
i told my friend about the body swap as he owns a drs defiant and had not realised this was happening. he seems quite pleased by dapols decision.
-
nicely done! i wish someone offered to do that as a service.
-
Bachmann's own pictures perhaps don't do them justice
too be honest they never do. i always think these models from all the different manufacturers look better in the flesh
-
there are a number of really nice looking models out at the mo that i would love to get but cant justify on a freightliner depot layout. i really like the lined version of the dean goods.
-
how much can we trust the colours used in preservation though? paint over 100 years ago would be different and shades often varied on stock painted at different times anyway.
-
that looks really beautiful. i can see it being popular.
-
i consider calling anyone ignorant as insulting and comments like that stem from people having a superior attitude to others. even you use of joe public indicates a lower opinion of the majority of model buyers.
if people are reading what you say wrong maybe you need to be clearer. you should not look down on any one because they dont see the slight imperfections in this model as a problem or dont see them at all.
-
i dont understand why some people seem to be going out of there way to attack rapido. have rapido done something in the past to warrant this?
-
Still - Joe Public will buy it in ignorance, and thereby contribute to the NRM's coffers.
..... and I think that you will find that I have nowhere criticised those who do (want to buy).
ummmm....

yes well i think attitudes like yours are detrimental to the hobby and how it is perceived! for whatever faults it has, the rws and tvs have both been hugely important and inspirational in getting generations of children into railways and then ultimately the hobby itself. and that goes for me as well. i grew up with both the books and the original television series and it was what gave me my love of railways, and if i wanted to model something from the thomas universe then i should be allowed to without the fear that i'm going to be looked down on by people with a superior attitude and made to feel like i am in some way harming the hobby!!
i spend a lot of my time on social media and on there are some absolutely fantastic modellers making amazing representations of places and characters from both rws and tvs, but according to you they are a detriment to the hobby. it's no wonder they tend to stay away from forums like this when there are people with such deplorable attitudes on them. what are you going to do, tell someone with autism that they are wrong and stupid for still liking the ttte universe even as an adult? are you going to look down on them too?
on the subject of the fandom, i agree that it is a very strange and toxic place at times, but then so is rmweb! as far as fandoms are concerned, blame the people not the source material.
weather you like it or not the future of this hobby is going to be the generations who grew up with ttte, and that is fine with me because whatever gets more young people into modelling, visiting preserved railways, and learning about this countries railway history should never be looked down on or belittled. if people want the hobby to stay as some sort of racially pure "you must hate ttte this much to enter" club, then I hope it dies out one day. i would never want to be a part of that.
i am 29. i have apsergers, i did my degree in railway history and have had a railway related job and no one is going to convince me otherwise that ttte has had anything but a positive effect on my life and my time in the hobby!
