This is a new topic (and scale/gauge) to me and I really know squat about it! (Side note: I'm in the US so British outline "ANYTHING" is rather sparse, and therefore this probably more than most! I'm essentially OO DCC)
Having said that, there's an opportunity to get a Bassett-Lowke BR Royal Scot (Limited Edition supposedly??) around here and I was half-heartedly considering buying it. Can I run it on regular O gauge track that I could get from the local hobby shop? The loco is described as "course gauge/scale?", so does that make a difference? DO I need anything in the way of some diabolical contraption to actually power/run it? Or is a 12V standard DC controller likely to provide enough ooomph? I do also have a G-Gauge power supply I could use?
Just thought I'd stop in and chuck that fuel on your fire, I'm sure it's a nutty idea?
EDIT: Is it worth buying as an investment even? Is it worth much/anything? Beats me, just looked nice as it's shiny and new/never run, and a lot bigger than OO
I can confirm that Corgi/Bassett Lowke Ace trains, Darsaed etc will run happily on Peco 0 gauge bullhead rail, some extra clearance is required on point check rails, but everything else is fine.
As an aside, the Bassett lowke is often referred to as "0 gauge standard" whose wheel standards are sort of halfway between finescale and coarse (ie Lionel)

What is the next loco after the47? it should be inside the front cover of the 47 magazine

Very happy with my compound, really enjoying the GBL series. I find myself looking forward to the next loco coming out (a bit like the old days of having a film developed and picking up the photos) and seeing how good or bad it is!!

Going back to City of Truro I have just noticed the driving wheelbase of the toy story US 4.4.0 is the same as C,O, T. Just needs some larger wheels and then the outside cranks, hmm...

Hope they can play their instruments without falling off the smokebox!

The latest Railroad black 5 is loco drive.

Rubbed off some of the excess paint on mine using a foam "magic eraser", the dark green appears to have a satin varnish coat. Not noticed any problems with no, logo alignment.
With Rocket I'm hoping they copy the Airfix kit and it comes with both a closed and open coach.
lets hope its not this one!!!!! : http://www.amazon.co.uk/Thomas-Friends-Take-N-Play-Stephen-Engine/dp/B00C58IAFC/ref=sr_1_10?s=kids&ie=UTF8&qid=1400275519&sr=1-10&keywords=thomas+the+tank+engine

All of this complaining about terrible finish etc, its ONLY 8.99!!! hopefully the above link has worked to show what you can get for around ten quid, i think i'll stick with the Deltic thanks even if the Brio loco has rotating wheels!!
-
Looks no end better with the wheels painted, will have to treat mine similarly (Maybe with a single chimney and BR1C tender too),
Looks perfectly acceptable in your photo and not bad being only £1 more than the Dapol kit in a well known retailer.
May end up with more than 1.
Regards,
Wild Boar Fell
I may give the 28xx the same treatment, cant make it any worse!!

Very nice simplex. Did you have to dismantle or just mask to spray the wheels?
Dismantled, only a couple of screws underneath and a bit of sellotape to protect the cylinder lining.

I can confirm that the safety valves are a seperate moulding as my loco is missing one!! However I think I got my moneys worth, but those wheels have an upcoming date with a spray can of Halfrauds black paint.
