Hello again everyone! It's been a while since my last entry, as quite frankly ive been rather busy with a new job and college work.

Nether the less i have done some minimal work on the nw Shed for my yard. this is loosley based on the design for the low relief shed on my boxfile as i liked what i had achieved and wanted to replicate it on a sightly bigger scale! So heres a few snaps of it right now as the paint and glue dries for initial asembly. appologies for the quality these were took on my iphone in low light!!

The main structure is Foamboard with thin card mounted ontop to create the various layers of the building both inside and out. Brickwok is simply a sheet printed from a well known model railway site.

Will have to wait a few days now beofore i can get the materials i need to do the roof as i start college again tomorrow Then the next job will be to fit the extensive interior lighting i want to include in my model!

So any opinions and thoughts please let me know as i'd love to know what people thing!

Hope everyone had a good Christmas and happy New Year!

    Regards,
    Danny

Well hello everyone! It's good to be back with everyone on the new site, and may i just say now how great it is! still taking my time to get used to it though!

Right, Dearnford Junction, well for those of you who remember it from the old forum, its currently undergoing a massive regeneration project. I have allready extended the bay platform in the station and i have now completed the move of the level crossing and the small bus depot where the signal box used to be. So here are some pics of how the layout curently looks...

A bit of detail around the level crossing

Work started on hill at the corner for the church to sit on

Sadly all this work means that i can't have a good running session But it's all for the greater good i suppose!

    Any comments?

Well hello there again everyone! I'm back again this time with Chitton. Some of you may remember my project from the old forum, where i was inspired by such layouts and thought i'd put forward my hasty attempts! The old thread can be found here: Thread on Old Forum

Well with working on Dearnford so much recently i have had to put the boxfiles to one side, and this morning, whilst sitting here putting off doing college work i thought i'd get them out, and have a good old photo shoot on the window sill! So bear with me as i transform into a 00 guage spotter now for the story behind the images!

With Dearnford TMD currently closed for extensive remoddling, various locos have found their way to Chitton Sidings for stabling, with light maintenence being done at Crewe Grest Bridge untill the depot come sback into full operation. This has produced a few unusual moves aswell as the day to shunting of wagaons wanting attention in the repair shop. So a morning was spent photographing some moves in the yard.

First off, taken from the embankment looking down, 37229 rolls along to the end of the siding to stable.

Another view of the loco as it slowly creeps along, under the bridge.

After a walk to the local Chippy for something to eat, we come back in the threatening weather to 09006 coupling up to a MHA wagon that needs attention to an axel...

After 09006 had moved off with the single MHA and then shunted it into the repair shop, 66135 creeps up after bringing the Weekly wagon repair train in from Warrignton Arpley. Normally te loco would go and stable at Dearnford TMD before working the return run in the afternoon, but because of the closure, had to stable at Chitton..

Another view of 66135 as we walk over the back of the yard on our way home..

Headed back in the afternoon to see if 66135 had left yet, no sign of anything other than these two wagons presumably awaiting attention...

    Well what does everyone think?

I have also drawn up a list of things that need doing on the layout, this morning i broke the main wiring feed off the main layout that powers the track so this needs fixing, i also still need to add a backscene aswell as various signs and little cameo scenes dotted around. I am also looking towards an idea of extending the layout with a couple more boxfles beyond the road overbridge, maybe also extending the fiddle yard but this will wait untill work slows on Dearnford which is taking priority of my moddeling time at the moment.

    More to come soon!

Hello everyone, after the period a few weeks ago where i was going hell for leather with the moddeling, i have slowed down slightly and have been taking stock! But since the last blog entry there has been alot of change on Dearnford! The hill that can be seen is a lump of polystyrene in the last blog entry is now complete and i have chaged the trackplan to accomodate the new TMD which will soon reside on the layout. Track is now down and wired in for thenew TMD and i have alos been doing various other small things to improve the look of the layout further! So here we go with picture time...

After a major stripping and cleaning to improve running 66135 is stabled on the entry road at Dearnford TMD with the resident "super gronk" in the background!

The main layout of the new TMD. Where the 47 is, is where the maintenend shed will be, the 37 is sitting on what will become the fueling road and the 09/66 are on the main stabling road.

Another shot of the layout of the yard, also showing the new layout of the mainline in relation to the crossover.

The other end of the yard.

The hill, with church on top.

A crude closeup shpowing the overgrown embankment that slopes down from the church yard. This is soo steep to allo clearence for longer trains such as a 153 or a Voyager.

And finally, soemthing i spent yesterday working on, a modern buffer stop as found at many terminus stations which will be fitted to the bay paltform. This was inspired by JZjr's Llandaff South layout and a trip to Euston on Friday where they caught my eye. Still need to fit the working buffer light.

So this is how its looking at the moment, next jobs include building and installing lighing to the shed, building lighting rigs for the yard and building a signalto allow trains out of the yard, onto the mainline.

    What does everyone think??

Hello everyone! With my new blog on RM web, it is inspiring me to go on and work at a quicker pace than before! That and the fact i had no college work to do this evening! So i got out the polystyrene that came with the new printer and a saw and got to work! Please excuse all the glue in the paicture, it's still all setting.

    Any comments?
