Have you read the descriptions on Bachmann’s website, which tell you the features of each version?

I have not seen any dates for these 4-coach sets but  i dont expect it to be long as for three of the coaches it is just a repaint job.

The Bachmann website is a good place to look, according to which these have arrived: https://www.Bachmann.co.uk/product/category/866/lswr-cross-country-4-coach-pack-lswr-salmon-and-brown/e86011

A bit disappointed as the front lights doesn't work whatever the direction of travel, though the rear lights are Ok

I've removed the shell and can't find any wiring fault.

Using Decoderpro I also read all lights function mapping . It's identical to my Farish Class 40 with the same decoder.

I'm thinking of a faulty DC light switch. I can't reasonably solder a by pass to this switch on a brand new model.

Unfortunately I think my beautiful Class 31 will cross again the channel

There are no 'headlights' as such, the real locomotive didn't have any so neither does this model. The headcode boxes should illuminate though, although not very bright so it may not obvious they are lit, again just like the real locos.

Judging by the photo, they don't appear to be working. And I suspect it would be in the product description if they were.

Kytes Lights do a good range of working yard lamps. None of them are precisely identical to the Bachmann one, but there's probably one which would suit most circumstances. They're a regular visitor to shows, which is where I've bought lamps from them previously. or you can buy online.

It does say in the description that they are non-working.

The arrival at Barwell of the models of Britomart has meant it is completely missed in Bachmanns quartely annoucements; having not been listed in the previous quarter neither is it listed for the coming quarter. No doubt in years to come questions will arise over when it was released.

It was announced several years ago so it’s not a new announcement and therefore would not be a part of the quarterly announcement of new products regardless of when it arrived

There was a time during the pandemic you couldnt get any n gauge locos, now we are almost inundated with 08s, 37s, plus 20s, 31s, 60s and 90s (although Id take 25/3s over 31s anyday ;-).  The regional exclusive idea is a good idea if it means more livery options and its helping support the local/smaller model shops.  They must be focussing on the stock now for 2023, I remember when the mk2fs were released they barely touched the shelves, plus they seem like a basic model to prduce so hopefully they are in the pipeline.

As for MCC in hinckley, if your in the area you have Rocket Railways in Coalville and Signal box in Anstey, can try your luck with the 2nd hand bins!  Ive just managed to get a TPO coach to go with the recently release BGs!

There was plenty of Graham Farish on the shelves of the Signal Box in Anstey when I visited yesterday!

But Rails’ website says for pre-order so presumably they haven’t got a new one yet to photograph. Bachmann’s older version looked like a BR1F, but that’s not the issue. Is the tender fitted to this new batch the one Bachmann used with its recent 9F, which is more accurate than the previous one.

Yes, it is, your very own post back in February this year states that Bachmann have confirmed it is.

I am sure that there are many Accurascale stockists up and down the country who will be able to take an order for any of the 37s that Accurascale are sold through on their direct sales.

Whilst it’s a little irrelevant for anything that’s sold out direct with Acurrascale, it is cheaper to buy direct isn’t it, so that would be my preference and surely the same for most people if price is the main consideration, as some on here would have you believe. As a consumer it’s hard to resist the cash back, credits, discounts on multiple purchases etc. which Acurascale offer and which presumably, independent retailers cannot match.

I think there was a bit of confusion around the green and blue models, but basically the previously announced blue/green models are still being produced but will now benefit from the new chassis and will be offered in both DCC ready and DCC sound fitted versions, the latter being the new models in this round of announcements.

Which I find surprising as the video seemed to explain it well enough to me and the Bachmann website gives pretty clear details about the model and it’s spec.

But the OP has had an experience at an exhibition where the retailer presumably didn’t make it clear he wasn’t an official stockist (which would be a safe assumption when they have current stock). This is, at best, misleading. I’d sooner not support such retailers, but I’ll be honest checking every manufacturer site for every retailer I may conceivably buy from seems absurd.

This thread is pointless, even more so because Bachmann resolved his issue anyway. So be careful. Maybe. Or don’t.

Given how few shows have been on since these were released it shouldn’t be too hard to narrow this down, my guess would be one of the sound guys like DC Kits or youchoons maybe? Indeed regarding DC, they’re not listed on Bachmann’s website but are selling the very model in question on their website with no caveat that it’s not new unless I’m missing something - if so it seems a bit questionable that.

Just been watching last nights programme and wondering why the guy went all the way from Margate to Crewe to look at an HST when the 125 Group’s power cars and coaches at Ruddington and Leicester would have been much closer, not to mention the TOC and off lease HST vehicles in store at other locations.

Just a thought but seeing as the same gent was at Crewe earlier in the series to check the colour of the APT, I wouldn’t be surprised if both visits were in fact a single visit filmed all at once which would make a lot of sense. I would think it likely that a lot of it staged for the TV show anyway. They would probably visit other sites if doing a serious job of a new HST, but for the TV show to have the same chap visit various places to see the same thing could get a bit boring pretty quickly I reckon!

It appears that I've been given incorrect information from a Bachmann outlet.

I was told that from the release of the 94xx, all new steam locomotive releases going forward were to be fitted with coreless motors.

Thank you for providing a definitive answer and apologies to Paul 27 for providing incorrect information.

It literally says on their website what motor is fitted https://www.Bachmann.co.uk/product/lner-v2-4791-lner-lined-green-(original)/35-200

  13. Dave has previously indicated that his quality check is performed in China.

    Roy

Hi Roy, sorry I don't recall reading that anywhere. Is this a change of policy then as on Dave's own website he said:

'In co-operation with my distributor, each model locomotive will be personally hand checked by me for running ability, wobble, back to backs, lighting etc., before being sent out to the customer, so that when you receive your DJM locomotive you can be as sure as can be that it is in good health straight out of the box'.

I don't recall him mentioning that he was in China whilst the 71s were being produced?

  14. Hi Dave, will your last minute trip east of Great Yarmouth (mentioned on the King thread) delay delivery of the 71s? I'm guessing you need to be at Kernow to check and test each model before they're despatched?

You're stringent QC process must take quite some time to complete, I don't envy that task!

  15.

A Beyer-Garrett with sound and decent smoke, now there's a prospect in OO.

    All the best

    Les

Nice thought Les but I would expect that anyone who has the ability to fit the smoke units will have no problem relocating the speaker if necessary!

    Cheers, Richard
